ZJ23 Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 there is an albino catfish in the fishtank at my school, does anyone know where i can catch one at? Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted May 12, 2010 Super User Posted May 12, 2010 Chances are you won't catch any , very rare. Quote
D4u2s0t Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 if they're albino, (white) it's because of something in their genes... there's albino catfish that are NOT white, but i'm going to guess you're talking about the white ones... in which case your chances are slim to none of ever catching one. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted May 12, 2010 Super User Posted May 12, 2010 Albino channel cats are very common,, but on fish farms. They wouldn't survive long in the wild, unless they were planted as adults, and even then.... Quote
ZJ23 Posted May 13, 2010 Author Posted May 13, 2010 yea im talking about the white ones,so im probably not ever going to catch one Quote
Super User J Francho Posted May 13, 2010 Super User Posted May 13, 2010 Shows what I know, though it is the internet, LOL. http://www.aquaticcommunity.com/catfish/albino.php I looked quickly for state records of ALBINO channel cats, but didn't turn up much. Quote
Super User Bassin_Fin@tic Posted May 13, 2010 Super User Posted May 13, 2010 Chances are you won't catch any , very rare. ^^^ Try Lake Dorothy in Norton. Don't know about these days but about 10 years ago it was loaded with them. Quote
Super User Sam Posted May 14, 2010 Super User Posted May 14, 2010 There is an albino catfish at my double secret pond. We don't fish for the catfish as they are pets. Lots of fun to feed them. Only problem is that they will follow you up and down the bank all day long. Quote
phoneman Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 I would imagine, like palomino trouts, they'd be high target in the wild, as they are easily identified. Quote
Northern Strain Posted May 26, 2010 Posted May 26, 2010 Here is one, there are a bunch of videos of them on youtube. Quote
OHIO Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 You can go to my uncle's farm in southern kentucky. He has an 8 pounder in his pond Quote

Super User Micro Posted September 1, 2010 Super User Posted September 1, 2010 There is an albino catfish at my double secret pond. Not anymore. You can find him at the moment in my double secret stomach. Quote
RyneB Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 I caught one 5 years ago while bass fishing. It was a light yellow and a very white belly. Like the picture above. It was pretty cool to see it come up an dive back down, i had no idea what i had on my line. It was a good 4 pounds or so. Quote
Super User Sam Posted September 1, 2010 Super User Posted September 1, 2010 There is an albino catfish in the double secret pond I fish. He is a pet. Fun to watch him swim around as you bass fish. Have not named him but thinking about some political names that I cannot use on this site or I would get into trouble with Glenn and the moderators. ;D Quote
