endless Posted June 17, 2010 Posted June 17, 2010 I went today to this local pond with my buddy not to far from my house and I was using my BPS 5' Micro Lite Elite with 6 lb Yo-Zuri Hybrid line and caught one tiny rock bass and this 2.8 pound Bowfin. I was wondering how my micro lite would handle a decent fish since I just bought the combo and know nothing about it. I'm glad to say I'm proud of my micro lite. It handle the Bowfin like a champ with no problem at all. Quote

brushhoggin Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 i hate catchin those buggers. i've grown to tell the difference between a bass bite and a grennel. grennels are violent once you set that hook. i've caught huge ones at least 30" before. i will admit it's a fun fight. they never really give up. i always mess with my drag when i hook up on one to experiment with different tensions. i love seeing tournament fisherman hook up with one, they get all excited then, "Aww s*it, it's a mudfish!" ;D supposedly they taste pretty good, is that what you were doing in that one pic with the water boiling? ;D Quote

Nah I released it back. I heard opposite about eating them and not sure if want to try. I do love catching them and I bet tourny anglers throw fits when realizing after what they done hooked. Quote
