Panfish and Trout jigs the same?

Will one of those 1/32oz jigs work with both panfish and trout?  They seem like the same to me.

Sorry I'm a total noob at trout fishing.

I use small Rapala's and small rooster tails. Pretty much anything that looks like a small minnow has worked for me. The rooster tails like mepps are used a lot here as well.
