TXBasshunter Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 I added these to my collection of baits I'm making and wanted to get some crappie fisherman opinions. They are 1.75" long and have a lot of tail action. Let me know what you think. I have a lot of other colors I am going to make, but these are for starters. What colors work well for you? Thanks for your feedback! Quote
D4u2s0t Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 panfish are stupid, and will bite anything. I regularly catch them by jigging a plain hook with no bait. So I wouldn't put too much emphasis on color for crappie, or other panfish. I think the action of the bait will be most important. Quote
TXBasshunter Posted May 18, 2010 Author Posted May 18, 2010 You are absoulutely right they will take a plain hook because the last time I was up at Buchanan that happened. I pulled the line up by hand and noticed my minnow was gone, so I dropped the bare hook back down to grab a minnow and my line took off. Maybe I should just sell hooks then. LOL Quote
zero limit Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 Just plain white seems to work best all of the time Quote
florida strain Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 black, electric chicken, chartreuse, red. where i fish here is stained up water, and the colors change daily for crappie. Quote

LOL if you're gonna sell them, make all the colors because people will buy them. In terms of what's "needed", depends if you're looking from the point of view of the angler, or the businessman lol. Agreed. While most fishermen will gravitate to a small handful of colors, they are dazzled by a large variety to choose from. Like women in a shoe store. Quote
