muskiebassfisher Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 how well does the tyger stainless steal tie-able leader hold up to pike. is it worth getting over the titanium or flourocarbon leaders? Quote
Super User Hooligan Posted May 9, 2010 Super User Posted May 9, 2010 It works fine. I started using Ti wire, though. You can use thinner diameters, tie the same knots, and it doesn't kink. It's very easy to use, and other fish won't shy from it as they sometimes will with Tyger. Quote
WanderLust Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 What TI wire are you using?? When Pike are around I use American Fishing Wire. I just tie it using a uni knot and away you go. The coating does start to come off after a bit though. http://www.americanfishingwire.com/smsupreme.asp EDIT - This guy seems to have some knowledge in this area. http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1245625390 ^ He was using a Fluro leader. fmoore Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 As far as I'm concerned a heavy fluoro leader is better for pike fishing than mono. If you must go with wire, though, the AFW stuff is good. Quote
