Super User skunked_again Posted April 20, 2010 Super User Posted April 20, 2010 we do it a lot, sept we dont use jugs. we 2' lengths of PVC glued into pool noodles. on the top of the PVC cap we wrap it with reflective tape. a fresh bluegill will temp many types of fish. Quote
devinjm Posted April 20, 2010 Author Posted April 20, 2010 that pvc is a cool idea. ill give it a try Quote
Hornytoad 10 Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 No matter what you use for a "jug" always use circle hooks to hook fish with less effort, some great bait options are - live bait (bluegill, goldfish, shiners,or creek chubs) -raw, shelled shrimp -chicken breast -ivory soap -cut bait (any bait fish cut up into pieces) hope this helps you out. PondHunter Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 +1 on the circle hooks and cut-bait. FRESH cutbait, not frozen. Quote

Hornytoad 10 Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 yup, there is actually a company called Redneck's catfish bait soap, it has added flavors and stays on the hook for a LONG time making it perfect for jugs and trot-lines, the website is www.catfishbaitsoap.com Quote
