rgbaseball Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 i am an avid spin fisherman for trout but have never mastered the art of floating a bait to those pesky top feeders. i need some advice on what to do and how to do it thank you Quote
rookiesmallmouther Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 like every fish that lives around currents and creeks (that's were most trout fishing is done) i learned they wait for food to drift down stream to them and a lot of people like me use power bait and worms so what i do is just tie a hook and bobber cast it upstream and let it drift down while following the bobber with my rod tip and reeling in any slack. the power bait balled up looks like fish eggs to trout and worms are just worms to them Quote
Delaware Valley Tackle Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 The lightest flouro leader you can get away with and the right leader length to keep bait just off the bottom will get the most strikes. Use stealth in approaching holes and riffles and approach from downstream if possible. Quote
