Bait doesnt matter, crappie will hit just about anything, it's about finding them first Josh

i fish mainly minnow a slip float for crappie. some curly tails and crappie jigs. there may be a few hybrid gills but the crappie are all crappie. we fish granada lake,enind lake in mississippi and there are monster slaps in those lakes. enind is where the world record crappie is from.

Oh sorry I should have specified, I meant the hybid crappie, I see some white black and white/blacks in the mix, typically hybrids get bigger than their parents, I think the hybrid record is over 6#

never heard of hybrid crappies. just black, white crappies. then the black nose crappies.  but anyway there a blast to catch and better to eat. i hardly fish bass in prespawn. i would rather catch crappie and gills then fish for bass after there done spawning.

I have to agree with you there,a crappie on an UL is fun when the bass aint biting! and yes they are delicious!
