NewAngler Posted February 1, 2010 Posted February 1, 2010 Those are some monster fish. What's your main bait? Quote
Thai Posted February 1, 2010 Posted February 1, 2010 Bait doesnt matter, crappie will hit just about anything, it's about finding them first Josh Those are some monster hybrids though! Quote
Super User firefightn15 Posted February 2, 2010 Super User Posted February 2, 2010 wow stellar! Quote
davehu Posted February 2, 2010 Author Posted February 2, 2010 i fish mainly minnow a slip float for crappie. some curly tails and crappie jigs. there may be a few hybrid gills but the crappie are all crappie. we fish granada lake, enind lake in mississippi and there are monster slaps in those lakes. enind is where the world record crappie is from. Super User roadwarrior Posted February 2, 2010 Super User Posted February 2, 2010 Outstanding! Did you catch any 4+? 8-) Quote
farmpond1 Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 With crappie and bluegill that size, I could almost see myself giving up bass. Nah, but I'd target them a lot less. Nice fish dude! Quote

Oh sorry I should have specified, I meant the hybid crappie, I see some white black and white/blacks in the mix, typically hybrids get bigger than their parents, I think the hybrid record is over 6# Quote
davehu Posted February 3, 2010 Author Posted February 3, 2010 never heard of hybrid crappies. just black, white crappies. then the black nose crappies. but anyway there a blast to catch and better to eat. i hardly fish bass in prespawn. i would rather catch crappie and gills then fish for bass after there done spawning. I have to agree with you there,a crappie on an UL is fun when the bass aint biting! and yes they are delicious! Quote
tholmes Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 Wow! After lookin' over that mess of fish, you got me thinkin' fish fry! Is it spring yet? Tom Quote
IwillChooseFreeWill Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 link is asking for a password... but as I tend to catch plenty of bream/bluegill in the 8-12" range, I am assuming that is rare farther up north.. Quote
