I bought some Zoom Horny Toad soft baits to use in weeds and grass as a weedless floating bait.  Wanted to use them much as the floating scum frog.  How do you rig them and will they float rigged.  This may not be the bait for this approach.  Help appreciated.

First off get the rage toad. Then rig it with a screw in frog hook by stanley or owner. No they don't float but with the action they have it don't need to.

You can use a regular 4/0 or 5/0 hook. Check out Ragetail's site because they have instructions on how to rig their frogs. Zoom Horny Toads and the Ragetail frog are close to the same bait. If you a looking for a floating frog I like to stick with Spro and Scumfrogs. Good luck!

Horny Toads and most similar frogs/toads won't float, but they are very good at attracting strikes used like buzzbaits on the surface.

You want to buzz them across the water, they're a top water, and not supposed to imitate a frog.  The legs kick up a commotion, fish them like a buzzbait or maybe a Heddon torpedo.

I prefer Horny toad over rage tail. I take the toad and put a worm hook, wide gap, (I us Gamakatsu 3/0) Take and stick through the nose and they push it through the gap on it's tummy so that the hook sticks up through the back o the toad. I push it all the way through and then skin it through the frogs back. It works great for me.
