Super User Matt Fly Posted August 3, 2009 Super User Posted August 3, 2009 I have kept a Storm Wild eye swimbait bait tied on. You can cast them a long ways which is very important, striper spook off very easy. You can very the retrieve for desired depths. Color depends on the conditions and seasons. Most cranks work as well. Soft baits like slugos, flukes are good also. Quote
Lynx Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 I don't know of any hard baits, but I can tell you that a 6" swim bait resembling a rainbow trout works great & its reusable for up to 10-20 times. Quote
crw Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 We catch a lot of Strippers and Hybrids on (All or mostly white) Crankbaits. We have tried others but always come back to Crankbaits. Quote

I also use Storm Wild-Eye Swim Shad, 4" in shad color. For a hard bait, I use a Husky Cisco Kid. This is really a musky lure, @ 8" long, and silver scale finish.Dives to 2 15-20'. Good Luck. Quote
seyone Posted August 5, 2009 Posted August 5, 2009 During the spring striper run down the Delaware river we use a lot of soft plastic swimbaits. Mostly we just live line herring though. Quote
senko_77 Posted August 8, 2009 Posted August 8, 2009 I'm shocked that no one has mentioned the Bomber Long A. Those things slay the Striper for me. Don't do anything but reel and they will slam them. Quote
