RattFish79 Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 Don't laugh.......just curious because when my wife and I went fishing the other night we heard shad jumping around all night long...possibly some bass as well since some of the sounds were like someone through a huge rock in the water. My buddy who lives on the Tar River in Rocky Mount NC where we were fishing said they were probably shad. I have a few shad darts can I use them at night to catch some shad while I catfish? Quote
GatorBK Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 I never tried the shad darts , but I have caught lots at night in a castnet , Shad gather underlights at night and can be castnetted that way . Find a dock with a bright light and try it. Quote
Red Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 yes they sure can...except for last night we couldt get any to come to our lights...lake is up like 10 feet...storms all over..no shad..no fish...lightning came so we bailed. Quote
BooyahSpinnerbaits12321 Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 i set a lantern at the edge of a pier and it attracts buggs then the shad come to the bugs when we start seeing the shad we throw castnets. Quote
