TREE BASS Posted October 24, 2008 Posted October 24, 2008 IS THERE A GOOD JIG THAT DOES BETTER THAN OTHERS FOR CRAPPIE, BUBBLE BELLY, ETC. Quote
BassinWill301 Posted October 24, 2008 Posted October 24, 2008 I think this should be posted in the other fish species section, also I am not sure what you are asking, but I like shad darts or roadrunners for crappies. Quote
simplejoe Posted October 24, 2008 Posted October 24, 2008 I always put a little rooster tail on my son's fishing rod and he catches fish or a Matzuo nnano minnow. http://www.fishusa.com/tackleshop/catalog_product.asp?url=Matzuo-Nano-Minnow&i=BBF8FCC16B674D008863491D105E635C&fx=1 Quote
Super User Big Bait Fishing Posted October 30, 2008 Super User Posted October 30, 2008 roadrunner !!! Quote
Scott C Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 i just like a white or pink 1/16 oz jig head with a tube body....then a waxie run up under the skirt, or a gulp waxie in the same manner. Quote
JiggaMan512 Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 roadrunner !!! would a soft plastic trailer (twin-tail grub, etc) be needed with that jig, or is it ready to throw "as is"? Quote
Super User KYntucky Warmouth Posted February 26, 2009 Super User Posted February 26, 2009 roadrunner !!! would a soft plastic trailer (twin-tail grub, etc) be needed with that jig, or is it ready to throw "as is"? You can fish it bare but a trailer never hurts Quote
Super User senile1 Posted February 26, 2009 Super User Posted February 26, 2009 I buy Cabelas cheap 1/32, 1/16, and 1/8 oz ball head jigs for crappie fishing and I use them with Southern Pro Triple Tip grubs. My two favorite colors are white body /chartreuse tail and black body/chartreuse tail for clear to stained and muddy water respectively. I've been using these for a few years now and they are the most consistent crappie bait I've ever used. Quote
jack1 Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 I did extremely well last season with a roadrunner with the swimming tail grub, also a crappie tube filled with Berkley's crappie nibbles, and Berkley Gulp & Alive 2 1/2 - 3" (Smelt) minnows. Quote
BassnMan Mike Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 Gitzit Hard Times Minnow with attractant squirted inside or a small Silver/Blue Kastmaster with a red Daiichi hook Quote
done Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 I could not believe I caught a 2lber last weekend trolling w/ an Rapalla deep diverin Lake Wylie. Thing fought great. Never seen one that big before. Quote
Calcutta Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 The best luck I have is with southern pro lil hustler tubes. All colors need to be on your boat because you never know what color will work day to day. Quote
NYfishwow Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 hey calcutta, thanks for tube help, those work great on southern bass. Quote
