billbrum Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 Caught this piggy on Big Barbee Lake in Indiana Yesterday, she measured 48 inches on the nose. Quote
Daniel My Brother Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 Nice fat fish. Congratulations! Quote
Super User fourbizz Posted October 13, 2008 Super User Posted October 13, 2008 I am sooooooo freaking jealous!! Quote
Super User fourbizz Posted October 13, 2008 Super User Posted October 13, 2008 Also, is that a Lakewood bag? Do you like it? Worth the money? Quote
billbrum Posted October 13, 2008 Author Posted October 13, 2008 Yes, its a lakewood. What you can't see is that there are 2 others in the back of the boat, so yes I like them.....a lot. Quote
moby bass Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 beautiful Someday I hope to get one. What did you catch it with? Quote
fivesixone Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 That thing looks about as tall as you! ;D BEAUTIFUL fish!! Quote

billbrum Posted October 13, 2008 Author Posted October 13, 2008 beautiful Someday I hope to get one. What did you catch it with? Thanks everyone! I caught her on a cowgirl......Finally got my first fish on a cowgirl. Quote
sodaksker Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 congrats on your new pb. She is a beauty. I knew the cowgirl would pay off. Did you get her on the "8" or on the retrieve. Do you ever fish lake Freeman or Schaefer? Quote
billbrum Posted October 13, 2008 Author Posted October 13, 2008 I got her on the retrieve about 15 feet out...the bait hit some weeds and i sped the bait up and BAM! I haven't ever fish Freeman or Schaefer. Quote
moby bass Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 Sounds like your tactic was just right, the impression of a fleeing bait fish not wanting to snarl in weeds. Another question, what color did you use? Not that your success might be what works for me, I'm just curious. Quote
Super User fourbizz Posted October 13, 2008 Super User Posted October 13, 2008 What a fish dude. I wouldnt fish for bass if we had muskies here. Really been debating over the Upright or the Hybrid bags. I have been tearing my hair out with big bait storage for a couple years now. Just wish they werent so d#%( pricey! Quote
Don B Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 Nice! They are quite powerful when they get to that size. Spring and Fall is the time for the bigguns. Enjoy the pictures and congrats! Quote

Another question, what color did you use? Not that your success might be what works for me, I'm just curious. Well, I was using a Sili Girl which is a Cowgirl with a silicon skirt, the color was midnight cisco. Fourbizz, they are definitely worth the money, I have one that is 4 years old and it looks like new...and I abuse them. Quote
basser89 Posted October 14, 2008 Posted October 14, 2008 What a beast! Congrats! Ones that size are few and far between here in MD. I've only seen a handful that size here. Way to go! Quote
basser89 Posted October 15, 2008 Posted October 15, 2008 what is a cowgirl? It's an in-line spinnerbait. They have both bucktail or silicone skirts. Quote
moby bass Posted October 15, 2008 Posted October 15, 2008 what is a cowgirl? http://www.muskymayhemtackle.com/ Quote
Super User firefightn15 Posted October 15, 2008 Super User Posted October 15, 2008 Nice looking fish billbrum! 25#? Quote
billbrum Posted October 15, 2008 Author Posted October 15, 2008 I'm not sure the exact weight, but I have caught a 46 incher that weighed 23#(according to the weight calculation formula)....this fish was fatter and longer so I would say 30#. Quote
MskSlyr Posted October 16, 2008 Posted October 16, 2008 Great musky no matter what state you are in. Congratulations and would have to agree the Lakewood gear is great. Quote
hawgchaser Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 Man that is an AWESOME fish! I would to take a Musky trip sometime. HMMMMM I may start looking into that! Quote
mattm Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 Awesome fish!!!! We don't have musky down here but I wish we did. Also I've heard about the cowgirl several times now from the musky guys, but haven't wrapped my mind around the figure 8 yet. What the heck does that mean? Quote
