fivesixone Posted July 18, 2008 Posted July 18, 2008 Hey guys, first post in the Other Fish forums... Caught my first peacock bass during my lunch break a while ago! It's really small but it's a start! Coulda sworn I took more pictures but oh well... Also, caught this guy the other day, my friend said it's a speck but I have no clue... The colors on this thing were awesome! Any help ID'ing it and how to maybe catch a bigger one? Quote
Joe Boss Posted July 18, 2008 Posted July 18, 2008 I thought "Speck" was another name for a Crappie. It looks like a Crappie to me. Nice Peacock Bass! Quote
CookieMonst3r Posted July 18, 2008 Posted July 18, 2008 I don't know what a Spec is but I know that's a Crappie. Oh and they are usualy around that size. Congrats on your first Peacock. Quote
Super User Bassn Blvd Posted July 21, 2008 Super User Posted July 21, 2008 I thought "Speck" was another name for a Crappie. It looks like a Crappie to me. Nice Peacock Bass! Same thing. There are white speck and black speck. People also call them Speckled Perch. Quote
Krzkev Posted July 21, 2008 Posted July 21, 2008 Down south here people call em specks or specked perch like Bassin Blvd said. Crappie sounds a little crappy. LOL Quote
