Ok, I'm fishing, and around the dock I notice a splash right on the shore. I go over to check it out, and I see a school of 10-15 bass in 2 feet or less of water.

I stay back and cast 10+ yards behind them, with a T-rigged 7" Power Worm. I slowy drag it between them. All they did was just slowly swim away.

I cast again. Same way. Same thing happens.

I switch to a Rapla floating pointer(BassResource.com traveling lure see Fishing Tackle section.) I twitch it beside them and in the midst of them, NOTHING! They just slowly swima away and then group back up.

Finnaly I switch to a T-rigged weightless Senko. I drag it over them and let it fall right over them. SAME THING HAPPEND!!

Any suggestions?

I have had a similiar thing happen like that when I was trout fishing. I virtually tried everything in my tackle box but then I finally started to hook up. I used small baits. I used a 1/32 skirt jig and I began to kill'em. Not saying bass will do the same but its worth a shot.

They weren't really "cruising" they were just sitting there and they'd strike at something on the surface every once in a while. They'd only swim away after I drug a lure through them. But within  mins. they were back at the same spot again. Eventually they did move 20 yards down the shoreline.

Your only hope against cruising bass is dynamite.

Oh, that works with ANY kind of bass!!! If we can't catch 'em on lure we just dig some good 'ol TNT out of our jon boat and fire away! If it floats it's food! ;)

I catch bass in those cases by presenting a small bait. Most of the time when they are in that mode in the summer, they are feeding on insects especially dragon flies. That is why you heard the splash. I use a Slider with a lighweight head and cast so the lure lands in front of them. Usually all of them will be facing the same way. Sometimes when I have a wacky rigged finesse worm rigged, I tear it in half and rig it wacky and present it the same way. They are competing with each other for whatever insect they are after and catching at least one of them is a sure thing.

I'm guessing they were aware of you, too. I'd probably treat it like a bass on a bed; toss a jig or a worm right in their wheelhouse, then let it sit for a couple of minutes without moving, then just a slight twitch...pause a bit and twitch again.

If this didn't work, I'd move on. ;)

Ain't no catchin cruisers, it can't be done so don't worry.  Go find some others that don't have ADD and can see and will react to your bait.

The cruiser is the most frustrating fish ever, they don't even stop to look at your bait even if it did cost you $80....  ;)

A heartless fish sometimes the Micropterus Salmoides is.....heartless indeed......
