Hey guys.  I am going to West Virginia in early May with my father.  We have a friend who owns a cabin on a stream that backs up to nationl forest land.  The guy fishes for trout throughout the summer on a fly rod.  We will be using ultralight micro spinning tackle for them  Any suggestion on lures or bait for the best catch rates. He suggested night crawlers?  Inline spinners of any color or size??  Grubs or small jigs??

Inline mepps  as small as you can go with a silver blade and squirrel tail work well.  Also, roostertails with the brown spotted body, gold blade and brown skirt in the 1/32 oz size catch brookies pretty durn well too.  Small curly tail grub and tube jigs are good if you fell like soft plastics.

there are many things you can use. nightcrawlers, panther martins, rooster tails, and spoons just to name a few.

for spoons i like little cleos.

when fishing these cast them upstream and reel just fast enough to keep the line tight. this will allow the inline spinners to spin.

these lures are fished on the bottom except for the little cleo which is a spoon and is fished medium depth.

Hope this helps.

Yeah it's a ways off and I'm already itching to be down in the mountains fishing for trout.  Thanks again for all the replies.  I'll let my dad know about all the lures. This should be a good trip.  I don't know excatly where we'll be but from what I hear it is definitely remote and backs up to some national forest land so it should be fun.  The cabin is about 30 feet from the creek :)

The YoZuri Pin's Minnow is a great trout bait.

I would also suggest a Kastmaster spoon and a Super Duper.
