Bream Master Posted January 6, 2007 Posted January 6, 2007 What really surprised me was how light the tackle looked. I have never been pike fishing but I am under the impression that you have to use heavy rods with heavy line. The rods and line looked like my bass gear. I'm curious to what the rod power is and what lb. test is being used. Maybe some of you pike fishers can clarify. Thanks. Quote
Super User T-rig Posted January 7, 2007 Super User Posted January 7, 2007 Europeans fish alot lighter then americans! probaly 20lb. max for pike plus a heavier fluorocarbon leader. The waters in Europe are usually very clear. MH to H rods. Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted January 10, 2007 Super User Posted January 10, 2007 Those are some friggin' huge pike... Wayne Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted January 10, 2007 Posted January 10, 2007 WOW thats all I go is WOW or Holy COW. Monsters. Quote
Super User MALTESE FALCON Posted May 11, 2007 Super User Posted May 11, 2007 Very nice Pike. You grow them BIG over there. Does IDRA have a web site? I fished for Pike with some English friends, and they convinced me to lighten up on my tackle. What fun it is to catch a ten pound Pike on 7' med. light spinning tackle. Falcon Quote
