bassn4life Posted October 22, 2007 Posted October 22, 2007 A couple of buddies and I were fishing out near mosquito lagoon and between the three of us caught an inshore grandslam! I dont have any pictures of the trout but here are some pics from Fri and Sun. Buddy Steve with 26.5" snook. 1.5" short Tom with small red Tom with baby tarpon Me with 23" red Me with 27" 8.2lb red! My first baby tarpon! Quote
Jake. Posted October 22, 2007 Posted October 22, 2007 Great Job! Up here in NC, an inshore slam is a flounder, speckled trout, and a red. We have tarpon, but not enough to go after them consistantly. Quote
bassn4life Posted October 22, 2007 Author Posted October 22, 2007 ya a inshore slam here is a trout, redfish, and snook. the tarpon makes it a grandslam. it was a hell of a weekend! Quote

Super User MALTESE FALCON Posted October 24, 2007 Super User Posted October 24, 2007 Nice fish and pics. I've caught sea trout, I'd really like to catch the other species also. Falcon Quote
Tokyo Tony Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 Nice fish man! Jeez, I miss snook and tarpon - those are my favorite. Used to live in Miami, FL, now I'm in CT. No fish fights harder than a tarpon. Quote
JCrzy4Bass Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 Those Redfish are amazingly beautiful. Where inshore in NC were you to catch those guys? The snook looks pretty cool. If I fished brackish or saltwater I would so want to fish for Reds. I've seen tons of specials on tv about them and guys that fish for them using topwater plugs and walking the dog. They look like they crush em'. What type of tackle were you using for those fish? What lures did you end up catching em' on? Quote
jeremyt Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 Awesome fish, Jcrazy, If you want to catch some Reds come on down to NC and I can put you on some, right now and spring are the prime times. There has been some awesome speck and red fishing in the past 3 weeks, with Nov being the best month before the spring. Quote
bassn4life Posted October 29, 2007 Author Posted October 29, 2007 hey acitually i am in FL. we were fishing in titusville. The reds were caught on a miroor lure that i found in a tree. the tarpon was on a chug bug, the other tarpon was on a terroreyez, and the snook was on a topwater plug. Thanks for the comments. Quote
