LAURASDAD Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 Hello, What are your thoughts about using 2 jig heads a few feet apart with minnows for crappie fishing? Or one minnow and one grub, etc. thanks Larry Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 I would try a minnow on jig head as drop shot weight and another minnow 1-2 ft up the line on a 6-8" leader.3 way swivel would work well here. Quote
Super User .ghoti. Posted April 12, 2007 Super User Posted April 12, 2007 I've done that often. Every now and then you catch two fish at once. That's a hoot. About a foot apart, and two different colors. Crappie can be very color selective at times. Much more so than bass. Having two different colors in the water speeds up the selection process. camofish Posted April 23, 2007 Posted April 23, 2007 yes sir!!!! Here is a beast crappie I got on a double rig, you can see the one in it's bottom side fin and the other is in it's mouth. I got this one back in January before the water iced up out of the canoe, vertical jigging over 22 FOW and ended up getting this one on the top hook too. Awesome to double jig it for the crappies, best worked in the vertical jigging over deeper water. When the water ice's out and the water warms, no need for the double rig. Just put your jig 1-1/2'-3' under your bobber and your Fish On! from there. I just tie the double trilene knot for both and put them from 6" - 14" apart when I double rig it, BTW. Good luck. Quote
