LAURASDAD Posted April 5, 2007 Posted April 5, 2007 For spring Crappie fishing, which do you think will produce better? thanks Larry Quote
bflow_6 Posted April 5, 2007 Posted April 5, 2007 you can put some crappie nibbles in the minnow bucket Quote
Super User .ghoti. Posted April 5, 2007 Super User Posted April 5, 2007 I haven't used minnows sice I discovered crappie nibbles. My number one crappie rig is a tiny bass assassin on a 1/32oz jighead, tipped with a nibble, and fished below a float. Sometimes I pull it about a foot and stop, letting the bait swing back down. Sometimes a very slow crank, keeping the bait moving along slowly works better. And every now and then you just have to let it sit. Cheers, GK Quote
grid Posted April 5, 2007 Posted April 5, 2007 I grew up mostly in central Florida. We did alot of Crappie fishing. We only used minnow on a slip bobber. Had great luck. Next month a bunch of us are going to Kentucky Lake (Tennesse side) I have been stocking up on jigs and other type crappie lures. I'm thinking on trying the nibbles. I'll let you know how well I did when I get back. Quote
Super User cart7t Posted April 8, 2007 Super User Posted April 8, 2007 I prefer to fish with minnows if it's not a hassle to get them or to keep them alive while fishing. Otherwise, a 1/16 or 1/32 oz tube with a nibble added on works well too. Quote
georgiabassfisherman Posted April 8, 2007 Posted April 8, 2007 live minnows nothing like the real thing. GBF Quote
lmb7 Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 you can never beat live bait go for the minnows. Quote
seaarker Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 OK, I just joined the forum and have no clue what a nibble is. I love catching crappie. What is it and where do you get it. I have always tried minnows and lately box worms but havent had much success with the box worms. Quote
