crappie lures

there a few crappie in a small farm pond by my house....wut lures do yall think is the best.....curently im usin roostertails,bluefox spinners,and roadrunners

Use some small jigs, they work great!

Swim or jig a small 2 inch white grub on a 1/32 or 1/16 ounce jighead.

I will second the beetle spin.  Although that lure doesn't look visually appearing, it is a key lure for catching crappie and even bass.  I love the beetle spin.

The charlie brewer crappie slider is a killer....its a lil grub bodie with a paddle tail....put it on a 1/16 or 1/32 oz. jighead and your in business.

use tubes in 1/640z-1/16oz. yellow/white, red/white, red/yellow, pink/black, and white work good.

I the above mentioned baits don't work, try a small tube on a jighead beneath a float. Check your knot every cast to make sure the knot is on the top on the eye, so the tube hangs horizontally. Add a split shot or two up the line from the jig. Add enough to make float just stay up. Experiment with depth and location until you find them. Once you catch one, you can almost always catch a bunch. When the bite is really slow, Berkley Crappie Nibbles can be worth their weight in gold. Have fun.

All of the above will work and live nightcrawlers under a float work for me also!  I did catch a crappie on a baby castaic sunfish swimbait once...  but I wouldn't recommend buying one to catch them...

Small jigs and beetle spins get my vote.

Has anyone used mini sweet beavers? They are just over an inch long.

I'm going to try them this year. Just wonder if anyone else has used them.

Use a 1/32 jig, yellow w/ glitter curly tail grub, and a bobber. I can catch up to 20 crappies on that rig on a good day.

1/16 and 1/32 oz jig heads with 1 1/2"-2" tube jigs or hairjigs work toooo.

And to keep it in the strike zone, use a pencil bobber and put  your jig about 2 feet under it. reel, pause, reel, pause, reel, pause the bobber back to  ya.

and remember, crappie have a paper mouth, no need to set the hook like bass fishing, just start reeling and the hook will set it's self.  8-)
