uiubassmaster Posted January 16, 2007 Posted January 16, 2007 Hey all, I go up to rainy lake every year on a father-son deal with my dad and a bunch of my friends and their dads. When I got this e-mail I couldn't believe the size of these pike!!! Both pics were taken in Rainy Lake, although I don't know exactly where they were fishing. This is something you gotta see to believe. (I hope I can get the pics on here, if not, I'll try putting the link up) Quote
uiubassmaster Posted January 16, 2007 Author Posted January 16, 2007 It wouldn't let me get both pics on there, so here's the second one. (kinda makes ya think twice before swimmin in the ol lake lol) Quote
Chris Posted January 16, 2007 Posted January 16, 2007 Might not want to dip your toes in that lake ;D Nice pike! Quote
Valascus Posted January 16, 2007 Posted January 16, 2007 Holy smokes!!! That is a massive pike. It's the size of a small shark for crying out loud!! Quote
Super User T-rig Posted January 16, 2007 Super User Posted January 16, 2007 Man, that's looks like an alligator!! Quote
uiubassmaster Posted January 16, 2007 Author Posted January 16, 2007 I dunno what he used for bait, but my best guess is live bait. Maybe a dog or a cat, or maybe just a big thick steak... Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted January 16, 2007 Super User Posted January 16, 2007 WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm impressed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quote
Chode2235 Posted January 16, 2007 Posted January 16, 2007 We used to go up to Rainy every summer. Caught so many fish and swam many a times in the dark cold water. As a child I was always somewhat afraid because I knew what lurked in the depths. I'm glad to know my fears weren't unjustified. That thing is huge. Quote
NEBassMan Posted January 16, 2007 Posted January 16, 2007 HOLY................................. Quote
Cigarlover 1 Posted January 16, 2007 Posted January 16, 2007 Awesome picks. That is one big honkin' fish! Thanks for sharing. Quote
cabela10 Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 That first picture was on a calendar this past year. So I'm not sure your friends took that picture because I know the person that caught that little fish and had the huge pike attack it. Quote
fishinyank Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 That second picture has been posted on this forum before, except whoever posted it said it was from europe. Tremendous fish either way. Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted January 17, 2007 Super User Posted January 17, 2007 That thing is UNREAL!!!! Quote

Master_Hunter_1977 Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 All I have to say is that is impressive. I would like to know the weight of that fish. It's not just long but its FAT too. NICE FISH Quote
uiubassmaster Posted January 19, 2007 Author Posted January 19, 2007 Ya they could've been caught somewhere else, the e-mail just said rainy lake. and from what the e-mail said, the guy in the pic is some wrestling coach, from where I don't know. But either way, we went cliff jumping on Rainy Lake a few years ago when the water was low, and I knew they had big stergeon... Quote
