Mobydick Posted January 2, 2007 Posted January 2, 2007 My dad and I took a trip to Little Buffalo on Sunday. We fished from about 3 until dark. we used meal worms. I caught 3, the limit, my dad cought 1. My biggest was 11 and 3 quarters. It was cold enough for the Carharts. Quote

Guest Texas_Bass_Pro Posted January 2, 2007 Posted January 2, 2007 Congrats on your catch. I have never been trout fishing but will someday make it to Beavers Bend in Oklahoma. Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted January 3, 2007 Super User Posted January 3, 2007 11lbs?? if so thats a beast of a trout, any pics?? Drawing from my years as a trout fisherman, trout typically are measured in inches, not pounds, like bass are. If he did catch an 11lb trout, you are right, that would be HUGE!!! Wayne Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted January 3, 2007 Super User Posted January 3, 2007 I suspect countryboy is talking inches, but trout get HUGE, too. IGFA Certified World Record brown trout: 40.25 lbs IGFA Certified World Record Rainbow: 40.68 lbs Quote

Mobydick Posted January 3, 2007 Author Posted January 3, 2007 Yeah, I was talking about inches not pounds. And that would be a huge trout. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted January 3, 2007 Super User Posted January 3, 2007 SPEEDBEAD, Yep, the Little Red is close. I fish the White River which might produce the next World Record. All the guides claim they have seen it and one I know claims to have had her hooked up. We'll see. I'm after her, too. Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted January 3, 2007 Super User Posted January 3, 2007 I thought I had read something where the Little Red and White Rivers were going to produce the next brownie, Outdoor Life was the magazine, I think. I am pretty sure it was published immediately after the record was last caught. Wayne Quote
chitwnbass Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 11lb trout is not really that big or that uncommon. I fish for steelhead in the southern lake michigan region in the winter and commonly catch fish in the teens. Quote
