S I G M A Posted July 27, 2008 Posted July 27, 2008 Does anyone know what the exact relationship between these two companies are? I was at Dicks today and saw that there were some Excalibur crankbaits on sale for $2.99. Upon looking at these, I saw some fat free fingerlings and fat free guppys that looked exactly like the bomber ones. I even found one that said bomber on one side and it was a bill dance model fat free guppy. Me, being the person who loves bombers, picked up a few of these and hey now live happily with my other bombers in my tacklebox. However... I am still very curious why I got a Bomber Bill Dance Fat Free Guppy out of a Excalibur package. I know Bomber uses Excalibur hooks... Are they like the Kinami/Yamamoto relationship?? Someone enlighten me... so i can go buy more Quote
Megastink Posted July 27, 2008 Posted July 27, 2008 actually, i have no idea what the relationship is. But, i can ell you this: They are the EXACT SAME CRANKBAIT! I have Bomber Fat Fee Shads, and I have Excaliber Fat Free Shads, and they BOTH perform equally. I think that Excaliber is a poser brand. They create lures from Rebel (pop-r), Heddon (Spooks) and Bomber (Long-A and Fat Freee Shads) The Excalibers come in different colors, an sometimes better colors. But honestly, there s no differce betwen the two. So, OBEY THE BAIT MONEY! Buy Bombers or Excaliber, THEY BOTH WORK! Quote
Simp Posted July 27, 2008 Posted July 27, 2008 Yeah I stocked up on that deal at dicks. I bought a couple for each depth range and I've caught nice fish on each range. BTW S I G M A I love your avatar ;D, Quote
Super User Marty Posted July 27, 2008 Super User Posted July 27, 2008 Does anyone know what the exact relationship between these two companies are? Pradco owns both brands. Bomber is one of the zillion companies Pradco has bought over the years and I think they developed the Excalibur brand themselves. The Excalibur lures you see could be older or they could be part of a special assortment of specially priced lures. For example, the Image baits, Spit'n, Swim'n and Pop'n, were introduced under the Excalibur brand, but for whatever reasons the company wanted, were switched to the Heddon name, just as Fat Frees were switched to Bomber. But be assured, an Image bait or Fat Free Shad is the same lure regardless of which brand it's packaged under. Quote
S I G M A Posted July 28, 2008 Author Posted July 28, 2008 I figured that it would be something like that... it was still interesting getting a bomber bill dance edition fat free guppy out of an excalibur box Quote
