Crabcakes Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 I don't like salmon. Vermillion rockfish, king mackerel, wahoo, fluke, and weakfish top my list. Tuna is always tasty. Mako shark is probably my favorite. I don't eat freshwater fish - sadly the ones around me tend to be a little too ummm hermaphroditic for my tastes. Quote

NJbassman Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 1) Perch/Walleye 2) Salmon 3) Bluefish 4) Flounder 5) Fluke 6) Catfish (I usually don't cook it myself, I bring it to a restaurant for others to cook it.) 7) Crappie Quote
Super User RoLo Posted September 22, 2006 Super User Posted September 22, 2006 1) Yellow Perch 2) Walleye 3) Bluegill 4) Bass 5) Crappie I realize that this is a bass forum, but I'm baffled by the unpopularity of largemouth bass. Just last week I was eating fresh-caught walleye, but I can honestly say that I've eaten largemouth bass, smallmouth bass and white bass that rivaled the flavor of yellow perch. If commercial fish were included, I'd give the nod to "Orange Roughy" :o Roger Quote
Tom Bass Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 RoLo, I do love to eat bass once in a while. I was just commenting on my favorites. I especially like to eat bass that are just over legal size. Cleaned, scaled and filleted, fried in butter with a little bit of wine and served with lightly seasoned rice and steamed vegetables that are in need of butter, salt and pepper. 8-) Quote
