Montgomery Posted January 11, 2006 Posted January 11, 2006 All of the normal trash fish but in 2004 3 rod and reels from the same lake and all in different areas. And my biggest fear would be to hook a dead body Quote
flippinmaster Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 I caught a bluegill on a 2inch goldfish several large bluegill on rat-l-trap. ;D Quote
MuchyMan Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 I was fishing a little stream for the first time, looking for some trout but i caught two 14' smallmouth bass and several bluegills I have also caught crappie perch bass creek chubs suckers shiners and a snagging hook with about a 4' long sinker on it Quote
bassholebuster14 Posted September 29, 2006 Posted September 29, 2006 i got a 50+pound pillow on a deep fat free shad man did it fight hard :-? Quote
JiggaMan512 Posted September 29, 2006 Posted September 29, 2006 In the words of Peter Griffin, " Man, fishing sucked today. All i caught was a tire, an old boot, and this book of cliches." Quote
Super User Dan: Posted September 29, 2006 Super User Posted September 29, 2006 i caught a jacket one time. That sucked not only because it was hard to land, but also because I knew someone was cold somewhere. Quote
virgina-bass-fisherman Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 i cauhgt a osprey on a live blue fish and ive caught myself a couple of times Quote
nofishforme Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 today i went to a new spot in my reservior where this man showed me to use a spinner bait at a medium retrieve...so i decided to switch to a spinner bait from a yum forked dinger, so i casted into the water not expecting to catch anything, i put my rod in the holder as i went to find the spinner bait and abut 5 seconds later i see my rod bedning like crazy. so i take the rod out and start fighting the fish which i thought was a MONSTER bass, but after 2 minutes or so it turned out to be a gigantic pike (for my standards) it was 24" long and 11.5" around which according to the weight calc. is 5.12lbs, so i guess my PB fish for now is a pike but hopefully i beat that # with a bass Quote
Crabcakes Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 I've caught some weird things. A seagull and a 5ft water snake among them. I also caught two flounder in 25 feet of water ripping a gotcha plug just beneath the surface. I would liken it to catching a catfish in 25 feet of water on a floating rapala. The all time winner is a very angry 500lbish sea lion who took a live mackerel i was fishing in Baja. He actually just came up and wallowed on the surface crying once he was hooked. We cut the line as quick as we could. Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 line class record pike. Was bass fishing. Quote
gtbehary Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 Fishing for bass and hooked a bowfin. Hale (fellow forum member) and myself thought I had a big bass. Went down to grab it for me then saw what it was (or wasn't) and jumped back. Very funny! Quote
BassFishingMachine Posted October 5, 2006 Posted October 5, 2006 Hmm.. My weirdest catch has to be well... this fish is hard to explain. Have you ever seen that fish on the animal planet or discovery channel, it attaches to the belly of a shark and follows it around, kinda like a leech. Anyways I actually caught one of those things. I was fishing a gulp on a jighead off a jetti and the thing actually hit it. When I brought it up it was the weirdest fish ive ever seen. I literally could not tell what side the fishes head was right side up. What I mean is I could not tell what side of the fish the top of its head was on. It was one weird looking fish. It had a suction type thing on the one side of it, that kinda resembled a plug port or somethin. (Which made me think that the side with the suction thing was the right side of the fish. Anyway I never thought I'd catch that type of fish, but it just goes to show you, you never know what your going to catch when fishing in the ocean . Here is a picture of it. Quote
Troutfisher Posted October 6, 2006 Posted October 6, 2006 Wow, that's an odd fish! The oddest things I've caught? Lemme see.... I've caught a tin can off the bottom (ain't that cliched), and caught a 4 inch bluegill on a 5 inch senko. I also caught a bottom rig when I was fishing out of the ocean that had snapped off earlier. scott000 Posted October 6, 2006 Posted October 6, 2006 bass on a pan jig and bluegill on popper yeah bluegills love popers Quote
Hula Popper Posted October 6, 2006 Posted October 6, 2006 I snagged a gizzard shad on a Rat-L-Trap once. And I caught a 4 pound bass on a crappie jig. Quote

Super User fourbizz Posted October 18, 2006 Super User Posted October 18, 2006 Last weekend I hooked, fought, and broke off an ~80 pound fawn. Quote
Absolute_St.Croix Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 Last week I took my pup Buck to the river with me cause he loves the water and I was fishin with a rattle~trap by some weeds for a smallie and WHAM I caught an 11.5" Pike! I laughed and carefully took it of the hook and let him go. That was weird cause I have trouble catchin them when I'm actually fishing for them! LOL Quote
jbass Posted October 28, 2006 Posted October 28, 2006 While fishing bass alley on Clear Lake here in California, I was throwing a deep diving crankbait fishing the break, when my crankbait was hammered. It just stopped dead and then started to move off. I set the hook again and the fight was on. Once I got it to the boat, it was a round rock about 3 lbs. The fight was when it rolled down the break to the bottom. Quote
Super User fourbizz Posted October 29, 2006 Super User Posted October 29, 2006 I caught both of these earlier this year on swimbaits. The first one is a Sacramento Pike Minnow that went 7lbs5oz and the channel catfish was 4lbs15ozs. Quote
Super User Alpster Posted October 30, 2006 Super User Posted October 30, 2006 Caught a 1/2 pound crappie on a 1/2 oz buzz bait. He jumped over a log to hit it. Hooked right in the top of the mouth. I couldn't have placed that big ole hook in that little bitty mouth with my hands. It was hilarious. Ronnie Quote
Hightekrednek Posted October 31, 2006 Posted October 31, 2006 I caught a sculpin on a trout lure once, they sure are funny lookin'. I caught a 3" 'gill on a 6" plastic worm. My first crappie was also on "accident" while fishing for bass. Quote
