Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted August 10, 2010 Super User Posted August 10, 2010 St Croix Imperial 9' 8/9 wt. fly rod. You're not turning into a mini-bizz, gleefully romping through the backcountry, eating granola and molesting ticks are you? ;D Quote
Super User Dan: Posted August 10, 2010 Super User Posted August 10, 2010 Ahahaha, no. The ticks of Virginia remain unmolested. I actually got the rod to go after snakeheads. Just a personal goal I'd like to meet. Quote

If you really must know what he bought, it's a combo of both a jig and a crank You're welcome Actually, they aren't a bad bait for brown trout when they stage shallow for the spawning run. Its not really a secret to keep from you, but from other locals. If someone is fishing with me, or needs help filling the well for another trail, my mouth gets bigger. But not on the web. Besides, even if I told you the bait, you'd have to know where and how to use it. Cranks aren't always as simple as chuck and crank. Back to the topic.... I don't like split-grip rods, but I bought the Mojo and the Supreme for the price of the 6'9" MLXF Avid, and it's not like I need the sensitivity for fishing floating worms. I let my wallet do the thinking this time...hope it was right. :-/ Quote

Stasher1 Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 And you fish with that pole? I've seen several videos and read a bunch of reviews, and the majority of folks that try the Emmrods seem to like them. I don't know how much I'll actually use it, but it was intriguing enough that I just had to try it. They break down easily, and the coil on the "rod" fits down over the forend to make a pretty compact package. Not my pic: Quote
Super User J Francho Posted August 13, 2010 Super User Posted August 13, 2010 That thing would look sick with a Steez on it. Quote
