b.Lee Posted January 13, 2011 Author Posted January 13, 2011 The rear of it sags down when you sit in it. Over time the chair sags more and more. So you are almost reclining back all the time. And since it sits low also, when you try to get up it isn't as easy. When you try to get up not everyone has the right momentum, so they build too much and come flying out. Again, I have seen it numerous times. Quote
BadKarma42 Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 Could you get some video of that? I'd love to see it. Quote
Fat-G Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 A Curado 200e7 from David P, and an Avid AVC70MHF that I'll probably pick up from Dick's tommorow. 50/12 PP, and a pack of the new Baby Thumpers. Woo hoo! Quote

Stasher1 Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 They're made by/for J&T Distributing. They have a nice finish, with a teflon coating much like DPMS. I've built a couple rifles using their lowers and have no complaints. Quote
Super User BrianinMD Posted January 19, 2011 Super User Posted January 19, 2011 Got a Dobyns Savvy 734C with a Revo STX and a Dobyns Champion 765CB Glass with a Curado 200E5. Can't wait to get fishing again. Quote

I've built a couple rifles using their lowers and have no complaints. I see many people refer to "building" a black gun from parts. How difficult is it and is it cost effective compared to buying a completed firearm? Basically just looking for something to throw lead, not shoot competitively. Quote
Stasher1 Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 It used to be about $100 cheaper to build a gun yourself due to federal excise tax on firearms. With the cost of parts kits dropping over the past few years, you can save even more. Look at this page, and add about $100 to cover the cost of a lower receiver... http://www.del-ton.com/AR_15_Rifle_Kits_16_s/57.htm Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted January 19, 2011 Super User Posted January 19, 2011 Difficulty or skill level required? Ever have to make modest alterations or fabrication with assembling parts? Quote
Stasher1 Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 The only semi-diffucult parts to install are the roll pin for the trigger guard and the pin for the bolt catch. Everything else just drops right in without mods. If you have the proper tools, even thos two pins are a piece of cake. There's a complete walk-thru on AR15.com that'll show you exactly what needs to be done. http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=12&f=2&t=75 If you decide to do it, let me know. I have a tool that makes installing the trigger guard roll pin a piece of cake, and will keep you from beating on the rifle with a hammer and snapping off one of the "ears". It's a motorcycle chain-breaker with a custom made pin to recess the roll pin. Doesn't leave a mark on the lower, flare the roll pin, or require a hammer. Quote
IMPY03 Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 I agree, I would try and piece one together...you could end up saving $100-$200. I bought mine straight up randomly one day while looking for a quality 1911 but I wish I would have pieced mine together. check out www.aimsurplus.com for more parts and ammo at good prices. Quote
