Sorry about that, I didn't know you were diabetic. I was just having a little fun with you thats all :)

You're all good man, it ain't nothing.   ;)

I have the 512 model, but i use the Silhouette injection kit. I don't use the continuous BG metering, since there are some issues with accuracy, last I heard. Invest is the right term. $3500 out of pocket, $490 per quarter in supplies, not including test strips and insulin. Awesome technology, though.

I dated a girl out of HS for a 1.5 who was diabetic.  Somewhere along the way they switched her to a pump.  It improved her situation quite a bit.  I did inject one of them into my side once.  Interesting feeling.

Seriously, though, report back on that thing. And I want to hear about actual fish caught on it!

What he said.

That sure is one peculiar little booger.

There's just something weird about checking the mail and finding a complete rod/reel package in the mailbox...with the door closed.  ;D

Emmrod_Omega.jpg

Hopefull I'll get a chance to try it out tomorrow afternoon. I took a few practice casts in the front yard with mixed results. When I get it right, it casts like a full-length rod. When I get it wrong, it casts like...well...one of those 2' Snoopy rods.  ;D

Gotta work on my timing a bit ;).

You don't put the line through the coil part do you? I don't understand the significance of it.

Posted

It goes thru the coil on the spinning models, but not on the casting models. The "rod" is actually very stiff, so the coil is the only flex point.

I smile every time I see those little rods.  I think it would be ultra fun to fight a fish on one and I can definitely see why it would be tricky to get the hang of.  Do they have a Min. - Max. lure and line rating?

For sure lighter than a camelback, I would say the camelback is durable because of the shear material. Mobex is made of 20D ripstop.  Has room for a water bladder, It organizes things pretty well. Only reason I say a camelback is more durable is because the Mobex is just a shell in a sense. To me it looks like a tent on your back. It has a frame, not your typical backpack style.

I am using it to hike half-dome, in Yosemite on Saturday and do some day hiking in the back country to some streams for some brown and golden trout.

Chris here could probably explain better.
