Super User 00 mod Posted November 9, 2010 Super User Posted November 9, 2010 J, those certainly look like Brown trout to me! What do you think they are? Jeff Quote
Super User J Francho Posted November 9, 2010 Super User Posted November 9, 2010 Small spots, no red spots, pink bands, and they just don't look like Salmo to me - look more Oncorhynchus. My son's 1st brown: Quote
Super User 00 mod Posted November 9, 2010 Super User Posted November 9, 2010 J- they look like these to me... PS> WOW thats a huge brown for a first! I"m still waiting on one that big! Lost one probably that big, but the only time I've even hooked up with one that size! Mine was probably in the 7-8lb range Quote
Super User fourbizz Posted November 9, 2010 Super User Posted November 9, 2010 They are rainbow trout. Very dark, golden colored Rainbows, but just regular old bows. The spotting is a dead giveaway. Here is a brown from the same water, same day. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted November 9, 2010 Super User Posted November 9, 2010 Pretty little rat Quote
Super User 00 mod Posted November 9, 2010 Super User Posted November 9, 2010 OK well I wanna catch some of those browns! LOL! And some of those very dark rainbows! Never caught a rainbow that dark! All of ours are silver/gray! Quote
Super User J Francho Posted November 9, 2010 Super User Posted November 9, 2010 I'm breaking the rules, but.... Some darkies: And a brown in its non spawning colors: Quote
NateFollmer Posted November 9, 2010 Author Posted November 9, 2010 Oh post as many photos as you want. I just didn't want people coming on here posting an entire album of their dog haha. I too get confused with the trout sometimes. I thought that rainbow I posted back a few pages was a brookie because I never saw a rainbow so dark. Freakin' trout and their color changing ways! Quote
Super User 00 mod Posted November 9, 2010 Super User Posted November 9, 2010 < super jealous!! OK well now I just wanna come catch the HOG trout you are catching! Quote

Nine Miler Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 Playing in the water. This actually wasn't my dog, but we played fetch for at least an hour one morning while we were up in the U.P. fishing. Quote
NateFollmer Posted November 14, 2010 Author Posted November 14, 2010 Last nights trip to the lake (no fish AND my Bill Dance Select baitcaster finally died after it met my Jeep hatch). I was bummed after all that but this made it all worth it: And this morning on the river...didn't think it was this cold yet: Quote
