Fish Chris Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 It's called Animusic. I've been cranking this stuff up on my truck stereo for quite a while now. I got the DVD + CD, and both are just phenominal Not sure how you guys get the actual little video screen to show up... but this should take you to the vids anyway... Pipe Dream 2 http://www.youtube.com/embed/v9ySRK3poq8 Planet Groove Oh, and if your one of those guys that "only" listens to country... or "only" listens to this, that, or the other, don't even bother. This stuff is as different and whacky as I am Peace, Fish Quote
Super User .dsaavedra. Posted March 21, 2011 Super User Posted March 21, 2011 that pipe dream was a pretty cool video. don't really like the music a whole lot but the video was cool. Quote
Captain Obvious Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 Video's 10+ Music -5 Overall not so bad and I am one of those who "only listens to country" Capt.O Quote

brushhoggin Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 see? now how are we gonna do things like this if we're extinct? ;Dgood video Quote
GTrombly Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 The animation and music are cool together but I don't know about blasting it in the truck. Quote
Nine Miler Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 The animation and music are cool together but I don't know about blasting it in the truck. Truth. It would be like when you start up the truck in the summer with the windows down, and the radio tuned to your favorite country station still turned up from the night before only to be surprised with "This one's for the girls." Thanks a lot Martina. Quick turn it down! Okay, maybe not that bad. Quote
Fish Chris Posted March 23, 2011 Author Posted March 23, 2011 Actually, these are recorded with a lot of ultra-low bass frequencies, that really need to played on a high end system for the full effect.... be it a high-end home setup up, or in a vehicle. But again, I listen to a really wide range of music anyway.... like say going from this stuff, to Celine Dion, to Korn, to Michael Jackson, to Beck, etc, etc, etc. I've even been known to play a country song or two..... Then back to some kind of techno-bass tracks Peace, Fish Quote
Bass XL Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 They had this on our local PBS or some channel like that. My buddy and I could not stop laughing Quote

Fish Chris Posted March 24, 2011 Author Posted March 24, 2011 Ha' ! This is pretty funny ....my landlords mother, who is close to 70 years old, and has spent her whole life in the Fiji Islands (a small group of tropical islands in the South Pacific) is visiting, and has been here for about a month. I'm sure she is already tripping on all of the crazy modern technology we have here in the US... But anyway, just now, I called her to the door of my room, and said, "Mom... Watch this.... and I played the Pipe Dream DVD in HD wide screen format, on my 46" LCD, for her" She watched the whole thing, and the look on her face was priceless I'm sure she had never seen anything like it in her 70 years.... especially living in the Fiji Islands She doesn't speak much English, but she gets the point acrossed pretty well, and she was just like, "Wow" ! Fish Yea, Jamirique is cool. That guy has more soul than most black guys He should get together with Joss Stone. I like her too though. And the Squirrel Nut Zippers, also cool Oh.... so can somebody teach me how to post vids directly, like is done here above ? Quote

Super User J Francho Posted March 24, 2011 Super User Posted March 24, 2011 Nibbles: Rockabilly and Ragtime both cashed in on a certain "hipness" and Rockabilly drew a lot from old swing bands. You really aren't far off with those two, though they seem completely different to the ear. Dave: Check out the rest of the album for sure. "Hell" is sure to please as well. Quote
brushhoggin Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 Ragtime jazz singers used this inflection quite a bit. Squirrel Nut Zippers vocalist used it as well: thats really cool. i went to college with their drummer. never got to become friends but he was a weird bstrd Quote
