Red Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 So I am allergic to shrimp, she loves shrimp but she never getss it at home for this reason. Well she got some recently and apparently it leaked in the fridge right into the potatoe bag! That baked potatoe I had for supper sure tasted good tonight, but now I am payin the price! Got hives all on my neck and I think I got some in my eye. She felt bad so she went to get me a DQ sundae. Anyone else have an weirdo allergies? Cliff Quote

GTrombly Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 My brother is allergic to red 40 food dye. Which sucks for him, because all of the best flavored candies, gatorades, and other things are red. Quote

Hamby Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 No food allergies here! I'm allergic to dust though. My excuse for not cleaning. I sneeze uncontrollably around excessive amounts of dust and my eyes get itchy, red, and tear up. I also have some sort of seasonal allergy that makes my eyes a little itchy and dry, but nothing i can't deal with. Quote

Super User ww2farmer Posted March 11, 2011 Super User Posted March 11, 2011 I too am allergic to shrimp, penicillin, and bee stings. The bee stings very in severity. Things like paper wasp's just cause severe topical swelling, most of the time I get at least a golf ball sized lump, often times bigger, but they don't effect any thing else. Honey bees on the other hand...........I need a shot from an epi-pen ASAP! Last time I got stung by one was on the tip of my nose when I climbed onto the roof of the tractor cab to reach an apple on a tall branch, the dang apple had a bee on it and it got me just as I was about to take a bite. After climbing down, and walking over to the guy following me to pick me up in a truck to take me back to the farm to get my truck, the next thing I remember is waking up in the ER with my face looking like that guy from the movie "Mask". I hate to think what would have happened had that guy not been there, and until that I had no idea a honey bee sting would do that to me, it had never happened before............or since. Quote

northern basser Posted March 13, 2011 Posted March 13, 2011 My dad has loved shellfish his whole life till a few years ago. He ate some shrimp and got deadly sick, went to the dr. and found out he was allergic to shellfish. It didn't come about untill he was almost 60 years old. I hope it doesn't happen to me because I love the stuff. Quote
