Super User bilgerat Posted March 14, 2011 Super User Posted March 14, 2011 Stopped into Dick's today to pick up a folding grapnel anchor for my kayak. They didn't have any on the shelf so the Lodge manager calls me over to a store computer and says "If you see the one you want on our website, we'll ship it free to your house" They had it, so I bought it. I thought that was pretty cool of them. I wasn't aware that they did things like that. Quote
HookSetDon Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 customer service for me is more important then saving a buck or two... its treatment like that - that would keep me going back to a store. Quote
hookingem Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 Alot of other stores will do this kinda thing. Glad to hear you are pleased Quote
Super User Dan: Posted March 15, 2011 Super User Posted March 15, 2011 It's called the "Score More" program. It applies for almost anything on the website. If you see it on the site and can't find it in the store, let them know and they'll set you up. In most cases it will show up at your house as quickly as UPS can get it to you. There are some exceptions ie: basketball systems, gun safes, other really big or heavy items that will not get the free shipping. The stores keep track of it and are encouraged to promote the program as much as possible. There is a specific goal each day for "Score More" orders so by doing them you are helping out the store's numbers as well. Quote
GrundleLove Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 My fathers store just went out of business (Ultimate Electronics) and they brought in the liquidators. And on the last day the liquidator stood on the counter and said to the people who were in the store "The first person who hands me $200 cash gets the rest of the store" there was probably $6000 worth of merchandise. :o Quote
