farmpond1 Posted March 14, 2011 Posted March 14, 2011 I was so looking forward to seeing a decent Sci Fi film. The special effects looked awesome but now I hear Battle: Los Angeles blows chunks like nearly everything else! Anyone see it? Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted March 14, 2011 Super User Posted March 14, 2011 For what it's worth my son and grandson went to see it and gave a thumbs up. Quote

Was it a real critic, cause if so then I got to be seeing it. Ain't nothing a critic hates that i have not liked. Quote
BassThumb Posted March 14, 2011 Posted March 14, 2011 I'll check it out with it's on DVD. Have you seen District 9, Dark City, or Moon? They're three of my favorite sci-fi movies. ***, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Children Of Men are all recent sci-fi films to check out if you're looking for some good sci-fi. I'm not big on movie critics, but I sometimes use this site to find new movies on Netflix. http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/battle-los-angeles/ Quote
Super User Micro Posted March 15, 2011 Super User Posted March 15, 2011 I don't care how bad it is. Even if it's horrible, it's better than the move I just saw... Monsters http://www.monstersthemovie.com/ Possibly the worst movie ---- EVER. Quote

Monsters http://www.monstersthemovie.com/ Possibly the worst movie ---- EVER. That's gotta be Troll 2, with an honorable mention to Wishmaster 2. There was even an award winning documentary about Troll 2 being the worst movie ever made, called Best Worst Movie. GLADES Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 I will go see the movie, sci-fi is best watched on a theater screen IMO. The sci-fi movies today have to much computer generated content. I like the special effects, but not for 120 minutes. Quote

Most said it was all action and special effects with no substance. This is generally how i feel about most movies these days. The "audience" gave it a 66%-which is better but not great. Although it would probably be better on the wide screen, I think I'll wait until it comes out on video. Think I'll go see "The King's Speech" instead. Quote
