When will cereal companies

STOP using so much #*#*#*# glue to seal the ***##**  cereal bag closed and start using a Ziploc/resealable bag?  I just ripped another #^$%@** cereal bag all to *##**# shreds trying to open it and cereal went everywhere. >

Simple cure is to marry a woman with a Tupperware collection!  They make a container that works great for cereal, even has a small pop-top to pour out of.

We use containers here in Florida for many types of food like cereal, lots of insects here.

Nothing keeps food better than old fashioned wax paper which no food companies uses anymore.  I hate bread in plastic bags, destroys the crust, but have found only 1 bakery that uses wax paper or a waxed bag.

And yes, I have defaulted and now use a scissors to cut the tops of the bags after the same thing happened to me one time.

I also feel your pain, why the heck they superglue (or whatever it is they use) those cereal bagtops like they do is beyond me.  I guess I can start using scissors, kinda whimpy IMO, using scissors that is, a man should be able to rip stuff open and not have to worry about the contents dispersing all over the place, especially first thing in the AM.

Costs money to change their baggin setup. So they use cheaper bag material and glue but the same equipment.

The results....... *BOOM* cereal everywhere.

I use a tupperware setup (lol from my last marriage). Easier so kids don't make a mess and I can see how much we have left before going back to Costco.

That's my main problem with them. By the time my 11 and 8 yr olds get done opening the bag, you'd think a warthog had been chewing on it for a couple days.  :

They aren't glued shut.  They are sealed using an ultrasonic welding technique.

I'd tell you more but that's as much as I heard when I was flipping past the "How's it Made" show on Discovery Channel.

Problem with condoms is the there are in the Tear Here class with a twist, the inside of the package is lined with a particularily elastic kind of plastic, tear here, you pull, the outside tears but the plastic liner doesn 't, it begins to elongate and as it elongates it becomes thiner and thiner then it wraps around the condon.

LMAO, It's comforting to know I'm not the only handicapped cereal bag opener ;D. My latest "battle with the bag" was Cheerios but Raisin brand has to be the worst.

I think there is some selfish, inconsiderate, mean jerk who has no friends that gets his rocks off by purposely over gluing the bags shut just to tick the cereal eating community off.

I mean really, they make squeezable ketchup bottles, PB&J in the same jar, resealable bags of frozen chicken breasts, resealable bags of potato chips, nuts and other snacks but they can"t make a user friendly cereal bag?

i've never had a problem opening cereal bags. it'd still be nice for them to be resealable for freshness though

I never have problems opening them neatly. Only the dumb people in the household seem to have problems. Then i have to deal with a bag that doesn't want to pour one second, then dumps half the bag the next. Then i'm standing there with a gigantic bowl of cereal, and an oddly shaped opening that i can't pour any back into.  :-/  The dog seems to enjoy these types of mornings.

Probably a mom that was sick and tired of the kids tearing apart the bags to get to the toy inside.
