I had 5, yes 5, alarms set for this morning starting at at 0700.  I still woke up late ::)

You "snooze hitters" will probably grow out of that.  When I was in college, most of us guys in the dorm were heavy snooze hitters.  But, the more years I've spent in the real world, the less the snooze button gets used.  And, most of the retired guys I know get up early without the help of an alarm clock at all.  I think a lot of it has to do with age and maturity.  As for me, I'm still immature enough that I need the alarm clock to get me up and going. ;)

i don't think i could get up when my alarm goes off no matter what time it is set for.

the only reason i use an alarm is when i have get up before i would naturally get up (around 1-2). if i was ready to get up and go as soon as my alarm goes off, then i wouldn't need the alarm in the first place.

basically what i'm trying to say is my natural clock tells me to get up late at like 1 or 2, and i'd get up at this time every day if i could. but i can't so i use an alarm. of course i'm tired when it goes off because its before the time i'd naturally wake up. i don't really hit snooze to give me more "sleep" time, i use it to give me some "wake up" time.

Couple solutions to this, if you're sleeping until 1-2pm, you need lay off caffeine, and do physical exercise during day, and go bed early and you'll wake up when the alarm goes off the first time. :)

i could cut out sodas, otherwise i don't get any caffeine. i also don't go out of my way to get any physical exercise aside from just walking around campus. as for going to bed early, i seem to fall asleep around 3-4 in the morning every night. if i go to bed earlier i lay there for hours and get very frustrated. see DSPS: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Delayed_sleep_phase_syndrome

I'm with ya Dave.  I used to have to set 3-4 alarm clocks throughout my room so I was forced to get out of bed to turn them off.

I can go to bed at 8pm and still have a hard time getting up at 7am.

But, I can go to bed at 4am and have no problem getting up at 11am.

I believe not all humans were meant to wake up early.

Mine goes off at 5:15, I hit snooze maybe once or twice.  The clock it set 15 minutes fast so when I do get it up is only about 5:20-5:30.  Then I sit and read BR for a bit, get my lunch ready and hit the road to work.
