You do realize you would get more sleep if you just woke up at the time you needed to get up instead of setting your alarm for 2 hours early and then wake up every 5 - 10 minutes to hit the snooze button.

yeah i do realize that, but i know if i didn't set my alarm 2 hours early i would almost certainly miss class. because i'd still hit snooze 6+ times ;D

I hit it twice.  The alarm goes off at 5:16, and two hits of the snooze means I'm out of bed at 5:30.

I have thought that same thing, and my wife has reminded me, but the snooze button still gets a workout.

I could never get up at 5:30. I have to wake up at 6 for school, but I normally actually wake up at 6:35. On the weekends I sleep till noon. I hate wasting that much time out of the day, but I can't help it. I'm a sleep freak. I go to bed around 10:30 and am dead for the first half of school. Then again why do we start school at 7:25?

Dang, I haven't used an alarm clock in years.  It doesn't matter what time I go to sleep, I'm always awake no more than six hours later.  Typically up between 3am - 4am every day of the week.

Thankfully, Fox Sports Detroit has replays of most of the Red Wings games about that time.  It saves me from those west coast trips where they don't drop the puck until 10:30pm.

I hit the snooze about two times. All my clocks are like 20 minutes fast. So by the time the second time it gos off I think I am late.

I wish I could hit the snooze.  I get up at 330am, usually without an alarm.  I have to go to the gym before work.  and as u might have guessed its gettting close to bed time.

I'm with you. I set my alarm for 4:30 and hit snooze until 6:30, then wait in bed until my sister gets out of the shower. Then of course, no hot water, so the coldness wakes me up. Get dressed, take pain meds, learning begins a 7:40. On weekends I sleep until noon, usually about 1 unless Im going fishing. It's just so hard to go to bed early. I'm usually a 10:30 too.

Good thing I'm smarter than everyone in my classes, and am a week ahead in my work, so I can sleep all day  :)

Monday-Friday I wake up at 4:25am, run two miles, take a shower and head to work at 5:30 to be there by 6.  I get home and I am in bed by 8:30-9 and do it all over again.  The weekends I will usually stay up till 9-12am depending if I go out or not (hardly ever go out anymore because of my daughter, so I am usually in bed by 9) and I am always up by 6am without an alarm.  The start of Spring/Summer (April) I am up at 3:30am once a month on a Sunday to fish my monthly tournament.  Who needs to sleep in???

Its so hard to get out of bed for school but when we plan on leaving early to go fishing I'm up and ready to go  :D

Spelling and punctuation are ALWAYS a "biggie" if you want to sound like an intelligent person. Sorry, but you need to be a good example for any students no matter what you teach.

Oh and, I hit the snooze at least once.

You do realize that the reason you can't wake up is likely because you're sleep deprived.  Adding two hours of sleep 5 minutes, push snooze, sleep 5 minutes, does nothing to give you the sleep you need.  You're only continuing the problem by doing this.  It's dumb.

I set the alarm for what time I need to get up and when it goes up I get out of bed and get going.  Most days I turn the alarm off before it even goes off because I wake up a few minutes before the alarm goes off.

If any of you people hit the snooze for two hours in my house I'd pitch your alarm clock in the garbage and get you one without a snooze button.

i don't think i could get up when my alarm goes off no matter what time it is set for.

the only reason i use an alarm is when i have get up before i would naturally get up (around 1-2). if i was ready to get up and go as soon as my alarm goes off, then i wouldn't need the alarm in the first place.

basically what i'm trying to say is my natural clock tells me to get up late at like 1 or 2, and i'd get up at this time every day if i could. but i can't so i use an alarm. of course i'm tired when it goes off because its before the time i'd naturally wake up. i don't really hit snooze to give me more "sleep" time, i use it to give me some "wake up" time.
