Hey guys, I thinking about trying some hard swimbaits soon and I was just wondering what you guys think are most reliable and catch fish. Thanks for ur input cause i'd hate to spend all that money on one and have it have terrible action.

This probably isn't the answer you are looking for, but it's my suggestion:

Mattlures Baby Bass can be fished on a MH or Heavy Power bass rod, no special equipment is required. The lure is a proven producer and I think, a great place to start. I have had very good success throwing this bait and at 3 for around $34 you can afford to lose one!

There are many from where to choose affordability and availability wise would be a Fish Arrow Monster Jack ( they are on sale at TW ! ), Lucky Craft 's Real California is also a good choice ( you can fish that one with a H power rod ), one of my favorites is the Team Daiwa Dead or Alive. Haven 't tried the SPRO BBZ yet but I 've only heard good things about it.

I do have other hard swimbaits but some are not easy to find available, some have to be ordered overseas ( Japan ) or are "expensive" so I don 't list them.

i heard the lucky craft real california was terrible. tackle tour gave it a rating of 3. the joints broke after a few casts or something.

i have never heard anything bad about 3:16 lure company. they are pretty pricey though.

Thanks for the suggestions, keep them coming. I was also wondering if anyone has tried ABT Lure Company Swimbaits. Some of them look very good and they aren't too pricey.

ABT/Strike King swimbaits are so-so, add to the list the MS Slammer and the AC plug, not the greatest and most detailed looking but proven fish catchers.

The ABT soft series are actually quite nice and do get bit.  Not much experience with the hard bait.

The only ABT I use any more is the Hard Wag-Tail. Its different in the fact that it wakes the surface with just tail movement like many soft swimbaits. Another hard swimbait that is affordable is the Mattlures Woody. 3:16 wake baits are good also but cost a little more. I like the Tru-Tungsten baits as well.

I've had quite a bit of luck fishing Sebile's Magic Swimmer, both the 3/8 and 3/4 oz. There priced around $14-15. Another bait that has worked well for me, though not as good, is the Jackall GIRON.

I'd like to try some of the larger swim baits, but can't get the hang of casting with a phone pole.

Good luck!

Save your money and either get a 3:16 Baby Wake and/or a Daiwa Dead or Alive. You can also get a blemished lunker punker for $30 at black dog baits website.

All three of these baits are poven swimbaits.
