Super User 5bass Posted January 26, 2011 Super User Posted January 26, 2011 Amy, Your dad was a great man and as you can see he really had an impact all over the country and touched so many lives. He is one of the most knowledgeable fishermen I have ever met and was always willing to help and give information. Giving out secrets and tips may not seem like much but in today's world with the competitive level of the sport, it was. I never got to meet him but did chat with him quite often. I was very saddened to hear of his passing and went to post a PM he sent me a while back about enjoying life, not getting caught up in things, and being over-competitive. Sadly I realized that I had deleted my entire PM Box the night prior to Catt informing us of your fathers' passing. None-the-less, your father was always full of wisdom and words of how to enjoy life. His ideas and knowledge will live on through the many lives he impacted here on Bassresource. He will be missed. Mike Excellent post Tin. R.I.P. Jack Quote
Super User CWB Posted January 27, 2011 Super User Posted January 27, 2011 All I can say is WOW. He will be missed. R.I.P. my friend. He's probably reeling in a double digit lunker up in Heaven right now. Quote
Super User Long Mike Posted January 27, 2011 Super User Posted January 27, 2011 The obituary that Brian posted is the first time I ever saw what Jack looked like. I don't know if anyone else sees it, but to me he bears an uncanny resemblance to a younger-looking, less weathered Muddy (Dominick). Thinking of you still Jack. Wayne OMG, Jack is going to pee on you from heaven for that statement. ;D Actually, I thought he resembled George Bush. That picture of Jack was probably taken twenty years ago. I personally knew Jack and you know very well that I know Muddy. One of them is as ugly as a sack of rocks. The other was Jack. ;D ;D ;D Quote

Good to see some light-hearted posts in the thread. I would venture to guess Jack wouldn't mind. Quote
Super User burleytog Posted January 27, 2011 Super User Posted January 27, 2011 I too see the resemblance Wayne. Saw something today that reminded me of Long Mike. Should have taken a photo, but I flushed instead. Quote

Super User senile1 Posted February 1, 2011 Super User Posted February 1, 2011 I know it is generally unacceptable to bump a thread back to the top but I just noticed that fishfordollarswife is the latest member to join the forum. I wanted to make this thread a bit easier for her to locate. Quote

Super User retiredbosn Posted February 8, 2012 Super User Posted February 8, 2012 Wow, I've not been active here for a while, I bought a couple of reels from Jack and had the opportunity to talk with him on the phone a few times. A real class act, just sorry I'm so late to offer my sympathies. Quote
