Super User slonezp Posted January 31, 2011 Super User Posted January 31, 2011 I have a HPdeskjet 4400scanner. Computer is a HP laptop running windows xp. I scan my old pictures, they get saved on the computer in the "my doucments" files as a pdf format. I'm trying to upload to photobucket without luck. Can I save it to a jpeg format and if so, How? Please let me know in simpletons terms as my computer skills are limited to surfing fishing and non "family oriented" sites. Thanks Quote
Super User bilgerat Posted January 31, 2011 Super User Posted January 31, 2011 It's easy. Transfer all photo files to a winzip compression format and then close out the proxy server. Upload to a temporary non - host third party site. Serialize the usb hub to a flash drive multimedia outletgjbcjefhwehxuwefklege,vnfvnkjn^&%%^$vXDJK566548543186745 ;D ;D Quote

CFFF 1.5 Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 PDF's are hard to work with unless you have a full version of Adobe Acrobat. Adobe Reader is very limited in what it can do. I would suggest you reconfigure your scanner to scan files as a jpeg. I would suggest going into the scanner software on your computer and looking through the options or preferences. Quote

The scanner should have come with software to install on your computer. Check the programs list for that program. Open it up and you should be able to change the save format to an image file type (.jpg or .gif would probably be the most easily uploaded) Quote
Super User slonezp Posted January 31, 2011 Author Super User Posted January 31, 2011 Before I screw it up and get ridiculed by bilgerat ;D is this what you're talking about The HP Photosmart software supports a variety of HP products. The HP Photosmart software installs by default into the C:\Program Files\HP folder. You can change this install folder during the first install of HP Photosmart software on a computer. Subsequent installs of other HP products that use the HP Photosmart software will automatically use the same folder as the first install. To change the folder where the HP imaging software is installed, you must first uninstall all HP imaging devices and the HP Photosmart software and then re-install all HP imaging devices and HP Photosmart software. BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted February 1, 2011 BassResource.com Administrator Posted February 1, 2011 When you save your scan, select "save as" instead of "save". A new window will appar. Near the bottome, underneath the field where you can name your file, you should see a field with "pdf" selected. Click the down arrow next to it, and you should see a selection of varioius formats, one of which should be "jpg" or "jpeg". Select it. Name your file and click "save". Regard your work. Quote
