And in about a year we will be building a home on Table Rock Lake. I have the land now, we just need to build on it.

Congratulations! I suspect this is just about every bass fisherman's dream who hasn't retired yet. I still have a few years to go but time passes quickly. Plans are in place and I'm working toward doing the same thing.

Did it 3 years ago. Best decision I ever made. I am having the time of my life. Even got a part time job at our local Bass Pro Shop to supplement my ever growing addiction. Enjoy the rest of your life. LIVE LONG AND FISH!!

I walked away from a good job and took early retirement with a reduced pension at age 56 - I don't regret it a bit!

I didn't end up on or next to big water, but I do have 11 lakes (4 acres to 201 acres) all within a 5-10 minute drive of my front door. It's great  :)

You'll have a ball................... :D

Wonderful news!

As Paul Harvey said, make your retirement whatever your avocation is and for you it is bass fishing.

You need something to keep going.

Bear Bryant and others have passed away after retiring when they have nothing to do.

Good luck and keep us posted on your retirement fun.  ;)

Congrats!  I'm trying as hard as I can to finally slam the doors shut around here too.

I'm down to a half dozen consulting only clients now, and the first advice I gave all of them was to start looking for somebody else in another two years!

Good for you! I hope you enjoy it as much as you think you will. I retired about a year ago now, at 52yo. Life is great. I fish Beaver Lake 3-5 days a week, and never seem to get tired of it.

Congrats on the retirement!! I still have ten more working years, but my days off are Tue and Wed and I do not want to

be off on Sat and Sun! :)

I will retire at 38 from the Corps.  With that, I hope I am good enough by then to make it as an professional angler.  Congrats, and know there will be professional retirees to follow.

Congratulations! To me that's the biggest achievement in life.

I wish I could start a career in bass fishing but the pension isn't great. LOL

Dwight, I give the bass that day off to recover from the thrashing from the weekend crowds. Hopefully they have settled down and forgot about it so I can sneak up on them.

The weedend onslaught usually starts on Friday.

Awesome deal. I can't wait until my retirement, Ill either move to CA or FL so I can fish everyday.

Congrats! I think all of us have that dream. With the economy and prices rising each day, I am afraid I will have to work right up to my last breath.

Congrats.  You're living my dream.

Hopefully I'll be able to retire early and do the exact same thing.  I only want to make enough money guiding to pay for my fishing hobby.  If I can do that, I'll consider myself successful.

Hope you enjoy it!
