Super User Sam Posted January 8, 2011 Super User Posted January 8, 2011 Hey Catt, great game. Aggies were our Slap of the Week. So what does THE HAT have in common with THE BEAR? Both have four 11-win seasons! Next year should be another wild and crazy college football season and it is only 8 months away. Geaux Tigers! ;D ;D ;D Quote
Super User Catt Posted January 8, 2011 Super User Posted January 8, 2011 Freshman Tyrann Mathieu was named Outstanding Defensive Player with seven tackles, a sack, a forced fumble and fumble recovery.... All three interceptions tonight were by true freshmen. We got a young defense Quote
fathom Posted January 8, 2011 Posted January 8, 2011 i agree...tough young defense. and jefferson has come a long way this year...as far as nerves, anyway. Quote
lsufan334 Posted January 8, 2011 Posted January 8, 2011 yes they looked good. Our defense should be our anchor again next year and with another off season and another good qb (Mettenberger) @ lsu pushing Jefferson he should be looking good next year. I predict a SEC championship next year. GEAUX TIGERS!!!! Quote
Super User Sam Posted January 8, 2011 Author Super User Posted January 8, 2011 Fan, we want three crystal balls! Would love to have three balls. Geaux Tigers. Quote
Super User Root beer Posted January 9, 2011 Super User Posted January 9, 2011 Lucky Miles to Michigan...I wouldn't be shock. Quote
lsufan334 Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 Miles already said he hasnt been offered the job. And that he is happy @ LSU. Why would he leave he has worked 6 years to make HIS team. I dont think he will bail. Not this year anyway. Quote
Super User Sam Posted January 9, 2011 Author Super User Posted January 9, 2011 Supposedly the Michigan jet was heading to Baton Rouge today and then to Hilton Head. Some beleive it is Carr's way of apeasing the anti-Carr people who want Miles. As long as John Carr is there, there is very little chance Miles will move unless Michigan can't get Brady Hoke and hey are really desperate. Miles would be dumb to take on a sinking ship with the team he has coming back to LSU. And the firing of Rich Rod has set back Michigan's recruiting at least four years. Quote

Sam it sounds like you live on tigerdroppings.com like i do. ;D I dont think he will go and I hope he doesnt go. I like Miles just dont approve of the guys he surrounds himself with (CROWTON). When it comes down to the wire in the 4th quarter i have alot of confidence in our coach. Miles has BALLS and wont give up. Quote

You're coach cannot manage the clock well enough in the 4th quarter to earn that much confidence Quote
Super User Sam Posted January 10, 2011 Author Super User Posted January 10, 2011 Fan, with George Jefferson not reading defenses very well and not making quick decisions, our offense has to be vanilla. Mettenberger will have stronger passing skills and can read defenses much better than Jefferson so I expect Mettenberger to see a lot of playing time next year. Crowton had to keep thinks simple for Jefferson, unlike the other schools that could install intricate offenses. Regarding managing the clock, it was the assistant coaches that screwed up during the game, not Miles. Of course, Miles has to take the blame as he has done to protect his assistants, but usually it is the assistants who watch the clock. Live and learn. It was only one ball game and it will not happen again. Quote
lsufan334 Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Well I have confidence in Miles regardless of clock management. At least he didnt blow a lead like Satan did against auburn and Scam Newton Quote
Super User Root beer Posted January 10, 2011 Super User Posted January 10, 2011 http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=6008137 If Miles is comfortable and happy at LSU why meet with officials from Michigan? Why not talk on phone and give them a few recommendation for head coach job and leave it at that? Look like Lucky Miles is going to Michigan. I might take that bet, if I was a gambling man. Quote
nick76 Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 The Alumni at LSU have been calling for Les's head for years. Every time he makes some dumb mistake on the field they question whether or not they should fire him. That right there is enough of a reason to want to leave to go back to where he played and coached before. He has given to LSU for the last 6-7 years and even won for them. It has been a long time since LSU was good at football and maybe he is tired of hearing how hot his seat is every year. He was rumored to have been the coach of choice to replace Llyod Carr when he retired from U of M. His wife wife was reportedly already in Ann Arbor looking for houses back in 2007 before the story was broke by Kirk Herbstreit before the bowl game. It is hard to compete when you are always looking over your back trying to figure out if he will be there next season. As a previous player and as a former coach it would be hard to turn down a meeting with your old school. Whether he stays at LSU or come home to U of M best of luck to him. Quote
lsufan334 Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 I think he is meeting with Michigan out of respect. Why would he leave what he as been building this team for 6 years and now has it where he wants it. And every coach in the SEC is in the hot seat. LSU will do what it takes to keep him there. Besides Michigan is a blank canvas and LSU is a masterpiece Quote
bmadd Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 He'll leave because enough boosters have told the AD that they won't give as much money each year as long as Lucky Les is still coaching. I can relate that situation to the Titans and VY. You can't argue their stats but there's that one thing about them that ticks everybody off ;D Quote
nick76 Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Yep, the Athletic Director at LSU is so concerned with keeping 'ol Les he has offered to waive or lower his $1.5 million buyout. The boosters and alumni have been pushing him out the door for a while, no time better than when your Alma later is calling and looking for a new Head Coach. Quote
preach4bass Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 So, the LSU fans believe Less will stay (because they think it's the premier school in college football), and the rest of the world thinks Less will go to Michigan (because they don't think LSU is the best thing since sliced bread). ;D Quote
bmadd Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 The sad thing preach is that I think a lot of LSU fans want Les to go because they think he's NOT the next best thing since sliced bread. Quote
nick76 Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 I would agree with you bmadd. The LSU fans are looking that gift horse in the mouth. Will be interesting if Les decides to leave who they bring in to replace him. Quote

Besides Michigan is a blank canvas and LSU is a masterpiece Michigan is in the top ten of coaching jobs in the USA , that's why he would consider going there , he probably won't take it though. Quote
lynyrdsky1 Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Who is the new quarterback coming? Wonder if he is going to be anything Like Matt Mauch or Matt Flynn. Seems like everytime LSU has a small and fast quarterback they do good. Quote
nick76 Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 That new quarterback would be the junior QB Denard Robinson. He was the Big Ten player of the year and the first Division 1 player to rush for over 1500 yards and throw for over 2500 yards.. Lightning fast with an arm to boot. J/K........only if Les Miles move to Michigan. Quote
Super User Catt Posted January 11, 2011 Super User Posted January 11, 2011 BATON ROUGE - LSU head football coach Les Miles notified LSU Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics Joe Alleva on Tuesday morning that he will remain at LSU. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=6011557&campaign=rss&source=NCFHeadlines Quote
Super User Root beer Posted January 11, 2011 Super User Posted January 11, 2011 If one more article of Les Miles come up next year about him in the hot seat. I will refer to this thread... Quote
