I shop at both. Both have things the others don't. I do like BPS a little better. I shop on line with them more. cabela's is only 1 hour away( I live in Pittsburgh and its in Wheeling WVA) so I shop instore more there. The nearest BPS in in harrisburg about 3 1/2 hours away. I have been to a few different BPS stores and each is different. The one is Harrisburg Pa. and Alburn Ny are small and seem to run out of stuff. the store In Baltamore MD is way bigger and seem to always have stuff and more of it. I just can't wait till be get one near Pittsburgh, I know its in the works, just wish they would hurry.

I prefer cabelas over BPS.  I really like their Customer service,  their shipping is quick, and from house brand products I have purchased from both I believe cabelas is alot better.  I'm not a big bps fan.  As far as internet orders, thats about all I do anymore because its easier and cheaper then driving somewhere.  I really like the way Cabelas website is constructed.  Its broke down and simple

+1, with customer service being significantly better at Cabelas.

You can't go wrong shopping at either Cabela's or BPS.  Go where the specials are.

As has been said, both companies are great!

I shop by price alone when deciding which one to use. A lot of times BPS comes out slightly ahead and a lot of times Cabela's comes out slightly ahead.

As for in store, I've never been to a BPS (there isn't one within many hours from here) but they are supposed to be opening one about 2 1/2 hrs from here in a couple of years. Cabela's is a great store to visit and the displays are quite nice. They also have some really good in store sales from time to time.

I also shop at Gander Mountain quite a bit as there is one right down the road. They are higher priced, but it's nice to actually go and see exactly what you're getting.
