Super User deaknh03 Posted January 5, 2011 Super User Posted January 5, 2011 I know we have some raiders fans on here, so what do you think of them firing their coach after the job he has done in helping this team in his short tenure? I think Davis must have something brewing, because I believe cable really brought something to this team, and the players realize it, so hopefully the new coach can keep it going. Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted January 5, 2011 BassResource.com Administrator Posted January 5, 2011 Davis is afraid of success. Otherwise he would have kept Cable. Quote
Super User 5bass Posted January 5, 2011 Super User Posted January 5, 2011 Unless he gets one of the top shelf coaches that are available right now, I think letting Cable go is a huge mistake. The dude had things headed in the right direction, despite having Jason Campbell as his starting QB. That was a major handicap right there, then pile on having to work under Al Davis and you see that Cable was behind the 8 ball from day 1. They didnt make the playoffs but they ran the table in the AFC West and finished 8-8. Judging from the past 7 years, I consider 2010 a success. Cable should still be there in my opinion. Quote
soccplayer07 Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 6th coach in 12 years... http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/blog/shutdown_corner/post/Shane-Lechler-on-Tom-Cable-s-departure-A-terri?urn=nfl-303709 Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted January 6, 2011 Super User Posted January 6, 2011 Rich Rod would be a good fit for that idiot Davis. Quote

Davis likes to keep the coaching carousel going at warp speed, that way he gets a 'coach' for a couple years then when it's time to pay up and extend their contract, he kicks them to the curb and most times tries to screw them out of some money owed to them. Heck, I think he still owes Mike Shanahan a couple million from 20 years ago. But he paid 40+ million to the biggest bust in NFL history. Dude is insane. Grey Wolf: Rich Rod? No thanks. Quote
CAdeltaLipRipper Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 Im a Broncos and Chargers fan and hate the raiders with every inch of my body lol but i think that was a stupid decision seeing how the raiders have totally sucked since 2002 and now they finally did alright.Heck they showed my teams up this year. The broncos sucked but i think them beating the Chargers that last game was a fluke lol you can't beat Rivers Quote
