Need help picking a new gun...

I currently own...

Sig SP2022 9mm

Remington Gamemaster 760 30-06

Winchester Xpress 12G. Semi-Auto

I am looking to get another rifle but I am torn because I really want another pistol but the wife was hard enough to convince for this one.  haha....

Anyway I would like to get one of the following rifles...

Ruger Mini-14 Ranch

Remington 700 SPS

Remington 770 Stainless

Remington Model Seven CDL

Or finally...

Remington 7600 Pump (Something about pumps I like)

All would be a 30-06 round...perfect for me.

Any input would be appreciated!  Thanks again!

I have a Remington Model 700 XCR Compact Tactical in .308 and love it, shooting 1.25" groups at 200 yards ;D

You can't go wrong with a bolt action in my book and of your list the Remington 700 SPS is tops.  I would lean to the 7mm-08 personally, but the 30-06 is a great round too!!

I deer hunt only, but eventually will start black bear hunting in the next year.  So the 30-06 is a must IMO for that.  I just threw the Ruger 14 in because i shoot a friend's from work quit often and its a BLAST!

Honestly I don't think you can go wrong with a Rem 700. Bad press aside, it is a long running line of rifles used by millions of people for a long, long time.

Durable, reliable, and accurate.

Get a savage centerfire volt gun, i forget the model name, but cabelas has the info online, and they have great reviews, Its a high value options with the savage accu trigger, its a great rifle, I hate to spend a G on a field gun thats gonna get beat up out hunting.

Savages would be either the Model 110, 111, 114 or 116. The 111 has the lowest MSRP. I believe the long actions (30-06) will all have 3 digits.

The SPS is probably the best on your list.  Stay away from the 770.

Personally, I like Savage firearms. The fit me well and I like synthetic because it stands up to the way I hunt.

Agreed, about the 770. They feel pretty cheap to me. Same with the Savage Edge/Axis. The Savages with the accutriggers are pretty nice.

Held and fired a weatherby today and was very pleased with it.

Yeah, since you threw that in there it is definatly a Weatherby. Just sold an Accumark I've had for a while and really hated to see it go , but Weatherby would be my choice of the mentioned rifles.

The Weatherby Vanguard is a very good gun.  It is made by the Japanese company Howa.  Howa is an old and respect Japanese company that builds civilian and military guns.  Not sure if the Vanguard is still actually made in Japan, but the Vanguard in .270 Winchester I owned years ago was.  Mine had a matte blue finish and synthetic stock.  It was light and very accurate.  It shot as well or better than any other rifle I've owned.  The fit, finish and smoothness of the action were very good.  For the money, they are very hard to beat.

Have you ever thought about a mosin nagant?

They shoot a 7.62x54r which is VERY cheap to buy.  They shoot very straight and are very powerful.

The best thing is they go for about 79-129 bucks.

Watched a neighbor of mine drop a doe at 1009 yards (ranged) with a WBY Vanguard in 300WBY Mag caliber.

Craziest shot I have ever seen.  She didnt take another step...

I would attribute a fair amount of that shot to luck, but he has been known to exceed 500yds easily.

Nice rifle, the 700 action can't be beat.  Why did you go with walnut stock instead of synthetic?
