Little Luey Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 I am glad that Kenny Williams did not sign Johnny Damon. the tigers gave him 8 mil That is high, but if he convinced them he was worth that kind of money more power to him. I heard Jeter saying he is not going anywhere and does not mind waiting for the team to iniciate contract talks. That is refreshing to see. Quote
Super User Gone_Phishin Posted March 3, 2010 Author Super User Posted March 3, 2010 Is anyone competing in a fantasy baseball league this year? Mine doesn't draft for a few more weeks. Quote
Super User Gone_Phishin Posted March 11, 2010 Author Super User Posted March 11, 2010 Looks like Joe Nathan might be on the shelf for 2010. While guys are busy drafting Broxton or Rivera, I planned on swooping in and picking up Nathan. BUMMER! Quote
fish-fighting-illini Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 Despite world series or pennants there appears that apprx 10,000 MLB fans / yr think that there is only one "real" MLB team in Chicago. Even in a World Series winning year. Apparently by their own attendance winning a World Series is over rated? Attendance Cubs Sux 2009 39,610 28,199 2008 40,743 30,877 2007 40,153 33,140 2006 39,040 36,511 2005 38,749 28,923 Quote

fish-fighting-illini Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 What I was saying was that the Sux fans must think a pennant is no big deal as they didn't seem to show up for the recent one that they one! I can hear it now "Hey you guys haven't won a World Series in 100 yeas bla, bla bla " Are you going to go the the games? "why would we do that?" " dude I've got an idea lets go punch a base coach" ;D ;D ;D Quote
zero limit Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 No one ever said cubs fans are smart. Wrigley field: worlds largest gay bar. every major sport team in Chicago has won a championship in my life time EXCEPT ONE! Theres always next century Quote
fish-fighting-illini Posted March 21, 2010 Posted March 21, 2010 Wrigley field: worlds largest gay bar. Pretty typical response from by the Sox fan cab-driver / sanitation worker mentality. ;D Quote

I have my fantasy draft tomorrow, and am wondering about their projections for this season. -Thanks Sorry I hadnt checked this out earlier. Prado may be a key to my whole fantasy season. I think I have him in all but 1 league I am in. He is solid. Escobar has his moments but is a good value later in the draft at SS. Solid player who should see an increase in RBIs batting lower in the lineup. Quote

Solid player who should see an increase in RBIs batting lower in the lineup. No sweat. I stole Yunel way late, but missed out on Prado. I'm ticked because he is 1B, 2B, and 3B eligible in Yahoo leagues. Our league expanded a little this year, so to keep a fresh free agent pool, our commish dropped a bench spot or two. I forgot this would shorten our draft a few rounds, and incorrectly targeted Prado. I planned on taking him in round 22 or so...turns out we only had 20. Quote
1inStripes Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 Thats the good thing for me about Prado. As long as he doesn't get hurt it will make it much easier to adjust the lineup on the fly with him. Quote

Super User Gone_Phishin Posted April 13, 2010 Author Super User Posted April 13, 2010 That's one against the Brew Crew. Davis really stunk-up the joint. I hope he was assigned to cleaning the troughs in the mens' room after the game. Two bombs and five runs to Nady and Baker??? Come on Davis. We might as well have kept Looper. : Quote
