Super User Gone_Phishin Posted May 30, 2010 Author Super User Posted May 30, 2010 Does anyone know what Doc Halladay's contract situation is w/ the Phils? Quote
1inStripes Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 Agreed to a 3 year $60 mil deal as part of the trade with Toronto to Philly this past winter. Quote
Super User Gone_Phishin Posted June 3, 2010 Author Super User Posted June 3, 2010 Agreed to a 3 year $60 mil deal as part of the trade with Toronto to Philly this past winter. Their time to win is now, as in a few years they will be a team of old position players with bloated contracts. That said, I can't believe they couldn't find a way to keep Cliff Lee in addition to Doc. :-/ Quote
FishingBuds Posted June 11, 2010 Posted June 11, 2010 What ya think of Stephen Strasburg? Me- I think its friggen great, love to see something like that come in BaseBall. What kind of impact will he have on the sport? Quote

NO WALKS! Quote
Copen1822 Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 I love how we finally get rid of "Soup" and than he goes and wins his first game with the cards. Great. Frickin pitchers. Quote
Super User Gone_Phishin Posted June 26, 2010 Author Super User Posted June 26, 2010 What a day for baseball: Edwin Jackson threw a no-no; and The Goon got tossed, so lock-up your Gatorade coolers. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20100625&content_id=11577800&vkey=recap&fext=.jsp&c_id=mlb http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20100625&content_id=11567858&vkey=news_mlb&fext=.jsp&c_id=mlb Quote
fish-fighting-illini Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 Today while I was at my future son in law's house and he was outside grilling I put a password lock on all of his Cardinal's channels. Cards might have a better record but the cubs fans won this one. Quote

fish-fighting-illini Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 Hey I just noticed the reply, good one stripes! So have your stripes always been vertical or have some of them been horizontal? ( back at ya big guy ) Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted July 9, 2010 Super User Posted July 9, 2010 I never have much to get excited about since Tom Hicks was associated with the Rangers. Still not sure we have gotten rid of Hicks either. lol I heard we just got Cliff Lee from Seattle. Rangers finally bettered themselves going into the allstar break and we are leading the divison. Just making post season would be a boost in morale for Rangers fans. Quote
fish-fighting-illini Posted July 9, 2010 Posted July 9, 2010 Man what about that pitcher for Colorado. 15 & 1 Jimenez I think. All this before the all star break no less and for a mediocre team. Quote

Super User Gone_Phishin Posted July 14, 2010 Author Super User Posted July 14, 2010 Kill me now. The chubbies are only a game behind the Crew...not that that's saying much. Quote
FishingBuds Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 You can lead a horse to the water and yadda yadda yadda ;D Quote
Super User Gone_Phishin Posted August 2, 2010 Author Super User Posted August 2, 2010 Wow! Lots of deals leading up to the deadline. Texas, SD, and LA got a lot of help. On the flip-side, I can't believe Houston didn't get crap for Oswald and Berkman; they really got hosed. Unfortunately Melvin and Co. decided to stand pat in Brew Town...pretty freakin' stupid. Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted August 7, 2010 Super User Posted August 7, 2010 Rangers 9.5 games in front of the divison, some good teams on the schedule to see if we can hold that lead. Rangers play a few games over 500 and we'll coast into the playoffs with Cliff Lee leading the bull pen. I can finally see a pennant in the distance. Quote

Super User Matt Fly Posted August 11, 2010 Super User Posted August 11, 2010 First of the year, Ranger boards didn't like the deal. After the first couple of weeks, he was bright spot. Agreed, Vlad has been great addition. WE are finally rid of Tom Hicks. Rangers might actually make some trades in the next few years that send us further. Stadium has been making money, fans love this park. Quote

Super User Matt Fly Posted August 23, 2010 Super User Posted August 23, 2010 Its been talked about locally every day. The $64,000.00 question, Can the Rangers lock Lee up after the season for a few years? Quote
