Super User Gone_Phishin Posted January 13, 2010 Super User Posted January 13, 2010 Well, it's that time again. Pitchers and catchers report to camp in a little more than a month. It's been a busy offseason, and there has been several major trades...one including TWO Cy Young winners! So...who made the best moves this offseason? Who tanked this offseason? Who's trade-bait, and where will they go? Any new favorites for division crowns this year? Who will make the playoffs? Wild Card winners? NL & AL champs? Trash to talk? Let's hear it. I'll start it off by saying I like the moves Seattle made this offseason; the one-two punch of Lee and Hernandez will be one of the best in the AL. Quote
Super User Tin Posted January 13, 2010 Super User Posted January 13, 2010 The Sox moves scare me. I still don't know what to think. When you loose playoff games because you can't score runs you shouldn't let your best big bat go and go sign another pitcher. Their number 4 starter cost them over $100 million, lol. And they brought the wrong Adrian to town. But who knows, that monster could be someones new best friend. Quote

So instead of going for power they are in turn going for pitching and defense. Time will tell if these moves work out or not. There arent many big bats out there and the ones that are are very costly too acquire. Quote
zero limit Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 What do you mean no pennant in Chicago 2005 wasn't that long ago. Not sure about our bats but I like our pitching staff this year Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted January 13, 2010 Super User Posted January 13, 2010 The Tribe will definitely not be any factor what so ever in a pennant race this year. What a pathetic run organization. Quote
mjhutch1116 Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 I like the moves that the braves made this off season. Hopefully all the pieces fit together, and if Chipper Jones can get his offensive production back up to normal levels things look pretty good. Matt Quote

Matt I had Chipper as my utility guy on my fantasy team for the first half of the season last year. He had me pulling my hair out. At times he would be freezing cold, so I'd bench him. Of course he'd then go on a three game tear, I'd put him back in and he'd leave the game due to injury in the top of the second. Quote

Super User Gone_Phishin Posted January 23, 2010 Author Super User Posted January 23, 2010 Any Philty fan or haters got an opinion on the Blanton deal? I like the guy, and he was a dark horse that really helped my fantasy rotation last summer, but 3/24mil is pretty steep. Quote
Brian B Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 I'm hoping that I don't watch a single Cubs game until early to mid June this year. I hope to be celebrating a Stanley Cup championship with the Blackhawks during that time. Plus by then, the Cubs season will be over anyway, so I'll start looking forward to college football. Quote
Super User Gone_Phishin Posted January 27, 2010 Author Super User Posted January 27, 2010 10mil for a year of Sheets? The A's are smokin' reefer. Quote

I am south side native and a White Sox fan relocated to Arizona so I don't get a lot of Sox coverage here but I sure enjoyed the championship run. Quote

Super User Gone_Phishin Posted February 15, 2010 Author Super User Posted February 15, 2010 I don't like either Chicago team, but I'd wager the sox win more games than the chubbies this season. Quote
