IDbasser Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 Made it out fishing last week, here is a pic of the view. A little different than you guys down south. Quote
Super User Fishing Rhino Posted December 16, 2010 Super User Posted December 16, 2010 Nice. Too bad you have to deal with all those Jet Skis. Oh yeah. How 'bout some pics of the fish? Quote

IDbasser Posted December 16, 2010 Author Posted December 16, 2010 Started getting hits, but my 5 year old got cold (wind picked up) and he was mad at me for not bringing the shelter, so we had to leave early. Last time I don't bring the shelter with the boys. Quote

IDbasser Posted December 17, 2010 Author Posted December 17, 2010 Last year I took the shelter every time we went. 95% of the time it stayed in the pickup. Those shelters are sure nice when the wind picks up (as long as they are anchored). Quote
farmpond1 Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 What's that "wavy" appearance on the ice about? How thick was the ice? It does look like the landscape of some distant planet. I received an ice shelter for an early Christmas present. I'm sure I'll use it when is really windly and cold but I move around a lot with my flasher unit (to find the active fish) so unless I find a spot that produces well, I don't know how much I'll remain in the shelter. I don't know what kind of temps you've been having, but up here there isn't too many times in a winter when you're not in a permanent shack or portable. Middle of the day tip-up fishing I guess. Wind chills have been below zero pretty steady lately and we just got over 2 feet of snow in less than a week. Quote
IDbasser Posted December 18, 2010 Author Posted December 18, 2010 The wavy appearance is from snow drifts that melted down and refroze. We had quite a bit of snow, then it warmed up and rained for over a week. We in this pic there was 6 inches, when i went on Thursday, there was 4-5 inches. But it has gotten cold again, things are freezing up good, some snow this this morning. Quote
