Super User Fishing Rhino Posted December 16, 2010 Super User Posted December 16, 2010 A commercial for the sleep number bed was on, and this tidbit from it caught my attention. During the commercial aimed at those who have trouble sleeping, they state, "This bed gives you the deep nourishing sleep you've only dreamed of." Hmmmmmmm. What is odd about this assertion? Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted December 16, 2010 Super User Posted December 16, 2010 If you aren't sleeping, how can you be dreaming? They must mean " daydreaming". Quote
SmokeRise1 Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 I've had one of these beds for the last 8 years. They can make stupid commercial after stupid commercial and I will still recommend their beds. Wife and I agree, best thing we've ever purchased. Quote

Get this, the bed is supposed to allow each side to set their own 'sleep #', but my wife insists my side is too stiff and changes it when I'm not around. Isn't married life great!! Quote

NateFollmer Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 I slept in one on a trip once (it was in a hotel) very nice! Kind of off topic, but I am on a mission to get enough people to call temper-pedic and request a free sample (its a 3x3 square of the mattress) and I'm going to put them all in a big sack and make my own mattress It's not going to work out though... Super User bilgerat Posted December 17, 2010 Super User Posted December 17, 2010 Thank God I've never had trouble sleeping. Have trouble waking up, but that's another issue. I could curl up on a pile of laundry and zonk out. Quote

I had about 12 pieces before I gave up. I wish I could remember where they were, they'd make a good pad for a boat seat lol Quote

Would be a good present for someone with a baby on the way. They might think you are spoiling the baby. Quote

Super User 00 mod Posted December 17, 2010 Super User Posted December 17, 2010 Hey Nate, Ive slept on those tempur-pedic memory foam beds and while they are soft and comfy, they are HOT!!! you sink down so far in them, they get REALLY hot! I couldn't get a good night sleep in it because of this! It was pretty cool that you could throw a big wad of keys down and lay on top of them and never feel them! Just a for warning! Try finding a hotel that has them and spend the night in it before you drop $600 for sample pieces from your friends! HAHA ( I think a king is $2000 for the mattress) Quote
